OEM Fork Tube Length -Help
« on: January 23, 2011, 06:55:59 PM »
I've searched the manuals and the forum and can't seem to find a specific measurement.  I recently purchased a CB750 K4 and it appears that the previous owner installed extended fork tubes though I haven't taken them apart yet to see if he just overfilled the forks to extend them.  Either way, the tubes are corroded pretty bad and need to be replaced.  I picked up another set of forks at the time of purchase but I am unsure what year they are from.  They clearly have a slightly different lower than mine...  can anybody tell me the fork tube length for the K4 model and are there any differences in fork tubes in the later K and F models?

Hi Matt,
I can't tell you the exact facts - but my bike is a K2 and has K7 forks. These forks measure 355mm from the tip of the bottom U bracket up to the flat top - hidden by the top black boot/cover...(underneath my fork gaitor). Never had this off and assume it is a dust cover for the seal. Not sure what the actual measurement for the bare tube would be however. Hope that's some help till someone else chimes in.
regards
Mark

I'd like to know the answer to the question as well. I just picked up and installed a set of standard length (22 13/16) tubes from CycleX. I'm being told now on another forum that it's off by 1"
