Where to get Cafe seat with battery storage
« on: September 21, 2011, 06:18:13 PM »
I cant make heads or tails of it all. I see some good looking seats everywhere from 60 to 600 bucks. The ones I like have the bar that slides in and the hub/rounded section houses the battery and electric panel. Im not afraid to build one but dont know where to start. I dont want to shape metal. Maybe fiberglass would be best. I would like to just buy one but where do you guys think would be the most reasonably priced place to look for my 76 550 specific. I want to be able to paint it later on and I absolutely want the storage.

Not that you SHOULD.
 Stock is way awesomer. :)

Harder to do, too.
More of an achievement.

Plus, a higher class of chicks like stock than cafe.

That's the seat I've got on my 400f cafe.  Love it.   But if you go with an alloy seat, might want to think about a matching tank :-)

That is purty... Direct bolt on? I think I may go with the roadster tail now as I am not sure that would fit with the look I am going for.. Bikes looks really good.

Thanks.  I like it :-)   I had already modified my frame, so I sent Sean the info and he built it to order.

roccity cycles has them. to store the battery you have to cut the frame and weld a hoop to the back of the frame to mount the battery and electronics

Any fiberglass seat has room under the back to mount
