72 cb750 brake light problem
« on: September 21, 2011, 10:18:55 PM »
Hey guys, been reading a bunch of other threads on here to try to help me determine what my problem is with this brake light.  I'm doing a cafe build on a cb750k2, and have replaced the master cylinder and tail lights on the bike.  The tail lights I put on the bike are LED lights, and I get the tail light to come on with the high/low beam switch on the bars, but can't seem to get the brake's to fire up.  I know this light can work as a running light/brake light, because when I stuck the wire that powers the tail light into the brown wire (brake wire) I get a brighter light from the increased voltage... I just can't seem to get it to work at the same time as a running light, then eventually brake light.

The master cylinder I put on has it's own brake light switch, so I'm no longer using the pressure switch that was on the lower triple tree.  I've checked as many wires as I can see looking for a possible ground that isn't connected but haven't found anything... any suggestions?  I guess it's also worth mentioning that I don't have any turn signals hooked up, nor do I have the turn signal switch on the bars anymore.

Oh... and here's the build, as I know everyone likes pictures.  Don't mind the hideous paint job from the PO.
