Topic: Help Locating a fork brace

Hello folks,

I've been trying to locate a fork brace for my 78 CB750K but haven't had any luck. Can anyone steer me in the right direction?

Have you checked ebay?  There are several there now.  One for a CB550 (item 4546689211).  Check the tech specs on www.sohc4.net, the fork tubes are, correct me if I'm wrong, the same diameter.

They may be the same diameter Glenn, but are they the same distance apart?

Telefix makes a brace for that bike. Spec2 is the USA supplier. I don't know the web address offhand.

Thanks guys. I am not certain but I think the tube width is different on the 750 than the 550. I'll see if I can find some spec's to confirm that. Yea I've been lurking around ebay hoping someone would put on up for sale, so far no luck. I'll  try to do a web search for that Spec2 supplier. Never heard of them, maybe I'll get lucky. Thanks for the tip.

Hmmm... Not sure about that.  I had seen someone suggest using a CB550 fork brace on a 750 in an old greenspun message.  I actually have both bikes and would happily measure the center-to-center distance between the fork tubes if anyone is interested.

I recently picked up a "machined aluminium" fork brace for my 73 750K from "Steve's Speed" on eBay.
He had a few for sale there, so he may still have some. I think he has an eBay store so you should be
able to search for the store itself.

You know, I have an old fork brace up in the parts stack. I think it came off a 750. If you know the approx. dimensions I'll go measure it.

If it fits you can have it. Just pay for shipping.

No cnc but a couple mills and a butt load of aluminum.
