Newbie in the Aurora, IL area
« on: September 25, 2011, 10:25:45 PM »
Hey, I'm new to the board and wanted to say hello. I stumbled on this forum from the net and twitter. Before my grandfather passed away he gave my uncle his '78 cb750K. Needless to say my uncle moved and gave the bike to me. I'm in the process of removing the fairing he had on there (which is royal pain in the ass.) I need to get a seat, headlamp and front turn signals. Wondering if anyone would or could point me in the direction of parts. I'm completely new to working on bikes and would appreciate any help. I'd be very interested in any groups / discussions, if any exist. My enventul plan is to put some real work into it, maybe a cafe or bobber style. I have a king and queen seat for it now, but would really like to learn how to ride this on a easier / lower seat.

Thanks for your time...

sounds like a cool project, for new seats check cb759cafe.com if you like cafe seats. I'm in Wheeling, IL now, so maybe next year I'll see ya.

Welcome and congrats on scoring a honda. the search function will turn up a lot of info as well as the FAQ and tips and tricks section. I've found a few parts in the for sale section and have been treated well by forum members. There are honda guys in your area and many of us are willing to help. You can also send a PM on this site to individual members. I believe the 78K had one of the best engines, some don't love the styling as much as the earlier ones but I do. Many other year parts interchange which can be good or bad depending your point of view.
