it's been a sh*t day...
« on: September 28, 2011, 07:46:40 PM »
So I rode all morning, rode to school and had my classes, left and my battery dies. Truth be told I knew I was running on borrowed time, but things just got worse.

Had a guy stop to help me who went and got a trailer and some straps, said he wanted to do the proper Christian thing and we strapped my bike down. took off and he stopped short, my bike tumbles and a huge dent is put in my original honda paint and decals on my gas tank.

After that my bike would start and idle super low and when I went to 1st and tried to take off she sputtered and died. My number 3 carb started dripping out the overflow and she just wasnt having it. now she is seatless and parked in the garage.

bad first day for my lil' all legal SOHC 750K

Jeez,Sorry to hear that. That was a crappy day. Here's hoping things get better for you and your bike soon. Make sure all systems are up and running full steam in the future and hopefully you will not be put into that unfortunate set of circumstances again. Keep your chin up.

I dropped my K0 before it got to the truck, know how you feel. Hang in there.

I put a scratch in a super mint tank shaking the rust out after electroplating.. My hands were wet and it slipped out of my hands. That sucked

Back in 1973 I picked up my brand new K2 750, headed for home, about 1mile into the trip and a $*#% came through a red light - I saw him out the corner of my eye and hit the brakes (all very unfamiliar of course) and he managed to just touch my front wheel causing me to hit the deck.
Couple of scratches to bike, bruises to me, and luckily my dad was following me having taken me into the city to get the bike, and he stopped me from decking the $*#%. I think I would have killed him. >:(
That was a sh*t day, and took the shine off picking up my dream bike. I know how you feel, but you do eventually get over it.

My socked in the gut moment came one evening whan a good riding Buddy of mine who had a 750 borrowed my 836 to run down to the store.Never returned. We all remember the sounds of sirens way off the distance earlier.Sure enough call the police and there was a cycle accident in the area.He had missed a curved and totalled out my pride and joy and himself also.I had to cut the engine out with a hacksaw and he still can't lift his right arm above his head. Bad things can happen quick but you are safe and healthy and the bike can be healed.

If the dent is fairly clean, meaning not a crisp line or kinked, and paint is not scratched, a dent wizard guy could get that right out. You would NOT believe how they salvaged an old Triumph tank I had with original paint. It was absolutely amazing, well with the $150 I had to pay.

I know that tonight I'm doing a comp test on my 550 due to an erratic idle. My valves are leaking I believe.
