Topic: finding a specific # ignition key switch

Ok yes, very silly question I'm sure, but is it possible to find a specific code # ignition key switch? I have a different key for my ignition than the seat and steering lock. I'd love to get them keyed alike.

or maybe is it possible to buy a replacement kit for all 3?

A locksmith can make keys for any lock, or ignition, using the code on the back of the lock, or by manually measuring the tumblers inside.  Should run no more than $20.00.  You may have to take the assy. in to their shop.

Also, complete lock sets both new and used come up on ebay fairly regularly.
The new sets seem to go for ~$110.

there was a guy at mid ohio this year who had everything.. I bought keys for all 3 of my bikes, and all he needed was the #, no cutting, just flipping thru a file . Incredible

Piece of cake. Smal phillips screw holds the little black cover on. Stick the key in, turn and instead of pushing up like you were going to lock the fork, pull and it slides right out.

Yeah, I have the same problem with both my bikes.
I got a used lock set from ebay a while back, mostly because it included the original ignition bracket, but I haven't installed everything yet.

I bought it. Thanks for the great link. (I searched but didn't find anything) Plus, now I'll have a spare key!
