Electrical issue with my cl350
« on: September 10, 2011, 02:01:22 PM »
Bike runs well for about 10 mins then dies, almost seems like something in the wiring harness is getting to hot and shorting out. Could it be the on/off switch?

No, I;m wondering if it was due to weak battery

The electric systems always have corrosion around the ground connections on the frame;check the ground connection(bare metal to bare metal) around where the coils mount to the frame & make sure the metal is shiny & around where the battery box mounts to the frame & where the rectifier mounts to the battery box, etc.
The electrics are the weakest system so they need the most maintenance; I think if you took a bit of time to clean ALL the connections & coat them w/ dielectric grease, you will have a solid system that you can build from.

I know what you mean about those headlight connections & how they can get loose
in the female plugs;I,m always as careful as possible when I try lightly squeezing them with pliers...oops,there goes another one. Glad you found the problem !
