Odd is right, they originally came with a Sachs single two stroke.  I think the 175 stands for cc'c.   Lee

 The original had 2 sets of points, one for forward, one for reverse, turn key one way to start engine 'normal' direction and turn other way to start going backwards ( was that the same as BMW Isetta?) meant you could try and do 60mph in reverse (didnt steer worth a damn over 10mph, and got scary at 12mph going backwards. Been a long time, over 30yrs, since I played with one :o)
