Best Place to get Tyres?
« on: January 02, 2011, 06:55:02 PM »
Hi,

I've finally got to the point in my build where I need to chuck some new rubber on.

I was wondering where abouts would be the best place to buy some new tyres, I've never had to buy new ones before.

I'm checking because I don't want to go to some bike shop and realise i could have driven somewhere else and got the same ones for half the price etc etc...

I'm looking to get the some chunky sport tyres.

Cheers
-Liam

I've ordered mine online here in the States but no use to you. I'm sure Terry or Mick can steer you in the right direction.
PS. I like Bridgestones!

If you haven't bought them already, check out Pablo's in Mulgrave. They're an old school tyre shop and I got a decent deal on a set of K81's for my bike...
My old man has been buying tyres from Pablo's for over 20 years.

I ended up getting them from pablos, I'll be going there for any tyres from now on, great place to go.

I got a set of metzler lazertech's. can't tell you what i think of them yet as the engine's not in the bike yet.

I should have taken photos from when i got it to what it looks like now, it was such a wreck

Yeah thats the plan, i've got it up as a rolling frame,  waiting on the head to be done, then chuck the engine back together, and in the bike, then connect everything up. the electrics are a bit intimidating haha. I'll see how i go

Hey Milo,

I know this thread is pretty old - hope the build is coming along - but could you give me a rough figure of what you paid for the lasertecs from Pablo's?

Thanks
Nick

Hey hummbug,

Thanks, the builds not much further from when i first started this thread, I've been waiting for the guy to finish the headwork, its getting to the point where I'm about to take it from him and get it done elsewhere.

On a possibly more positive note! haha, with new tubes and fitting and balancing i think it was about $320, Don't take it for certain though
