My CB400 1976 as pictured is still in need of restoration if only mostly minor. Probably the worst to do is replace the header pipes, I bought a replacement set ( Motad UK).
Can anyone tell me for sure if painting the inside of the pipes WILL DEFINITELY stop them from turning blue? I did a Google search and there as as many differing opinions as there are websites!
Other minor fixes are, headlight rim, slight oil leak, slight fuel leak ( I'm not as concerned about this as I am about the oil leak,  with no oil, engine damage is worse than running out of fuel - I reckon anyway!) The handlebars have been lowered slightly down the forks and if you look at the seat you can see it is lower also. No not worn out, just lowered so I can have at least ONE foot on the ground. I had the full lowering treatment done to my FZS600 and it works a treat and does not affect the bikes handling at all. So I was confident with doing similar with my 400.
There are other very minor cosmetic changes I could make ( I don't want lots of chrome - too much hard work keeping it clean ) but I want a bike that I won't worry about if it gets a bug spatter but will still turn heads - and we do!
Cheers,
