A little custom work
« on: September 30, 2011, 07:45:00 AM »
This seat pan was my first time working with fiberglass but it turned out pretty good, thanks to youtube vids. When I upholstered the seat I decided to put accenting blue thread through it to give a little more of a custom look.
The new bars are from an old Triumph and the mirrors are from an aftermartket cafe racer shop.
I'm going to build a passenger pad and/or put saddlebags on to cover up the empty fender area and the old cross bracket where the old seat mounted. A friend of mine also suggested bringing the rear fender in more... Advice on which option to do would be appreciated.
I still have a little painting to do on some smaller stuff but waitning for the winter to do all that.
Let me know what you think, I'd love to hear your opinions/suggestions!

I disagree. I would add a pillion pad and that will make it look shorter and
provide back support and the same time. I would make it so it overlaps the frame rails and snaps on. It would cover up the wiring etc.,.

You could even make it a zip up pack that you can put things in, that you want to carry.

I like the tail light because it includes the side markers and it is out of the way and all legal. You won't be kicking it every time you get off and on the bike like you would when you make the fender shorter.
