It's been a while, and I've not had much to say about the old beast. Oil leak persists, so I decided to dyno it as is before tearing it down and replacing the cylinder block all together. It's running like a mother#$%*er though, and starts first kick, every time.
The dyno results were interesting. The power was exactly the same as it was before the CR29s and the 18cc bump in displacement, but it was WAY too rich. Like four sizes too rich at least, and the smallest mains we had between us were 118s. I'd wager I need to be in the 112 if not 110 range to be dialed in, then we'll see how much power those CRs are adding.
Anyway, it was a bit of a disappointment, but interesting none the less. We also dynoed a customer's bike in which I installed a Webcam 41a cam, stock otherwise. It was also way too rich with 120 mains (making 50 HP... not as much as I'd have expected with that cam) and we had no small rounds small enough either. We driledl six 1" holes in the airbox and picked up 10 HP. The filter seems to be restrictive still at the very top and was still a little rich, but I think 115s will be perfect.
