CB750 Alpha 4-1 exhaust, any good ?
« on: May 21, 2006, 12:05:32 PM »
Was looking for some photos in the loft (attic) and found an Alpha 4-1 for a CB750F1, I must have bought it years ago ready to replace the standard system. However looking at it the 4 header pipes appear to be just a push fit into the collecter, is this right, has anyone had one of these systems and can comment on them ? And yes I store all my spare bits in the loft, there is at least 2 CB750F1/F2 tanks and seats up there plus all the various standard bits off the bike that I have replaced over the years, and my BSA spares.

Cheers

Thanks Mick, I'll give it a try, if I don't like the look or sound I'll revert to my standard header pipes and Dunstall silencer.
Sorry Jerry the tanks are in the UK, one of them is the original red tank that came with the bike but leaked so I went out and bought a new F2 tank and seat, now I know about all these wonderful tank sealers I might refurbish it.
The other tank is a black F2 tank which I might respray red and use on my F2, but I may respray another F1 tank that that I have that someone has tastefully brush painted with orange Hammerite. Don't know yet.

Never hurts to have a spare tank laying around.

I've got a race system but it does have springs to hold it together. Leaks like a sieve so I made some seals from asbestos rope that was meant for a woodstove door.......ooops.... can you say "asbestos" these days w/out a federal license? ::)
