Guys my project isn't dead but it has been severely delayed. My engine builder put my engine on the back burner while I was in Afghan and now he owes me work and I'm having a tough time getting him to get it done. I'm at the point that we need custom made valves cut for the heads and since he is the one that has gotten it this far I really want him to finish it. Hopefully I can keep putting pressure on him to get it finished up. I also came home from Afghan and went back to college full time so that has consumed a lot of my time. Rest assured though that with the parts I have already purchased and the money I have spent that this thing will get finished at some point. Once the engine is actually all back together I will do all the EFI conversion on the engine stand where it is easier to work on. Then the frame modifications will begin.

Thanks. I check in on the site from time to time. I've just been super busy with school and setting up my new shop now that I'm home. It will get done, just not sure when.

Any progress in your build mn ? Really interested to see how you upgrade the charging system on this cb650 they are known to have really bad systems.

I'm joining the pile-on.  Any updates??  Specifically, have you worked out the modification of the CBR600RR stator to upgrade the 650 charging system for the fuel pump/EFI set up?  I wouldn't mind upgrading my 650 charging system if the mod is not too outrageous.

Well guys it’s been forever but sometimes life gets in the way. Engineering school took every spare moment I had and every spare dime I had too. I’ve now graduated and I’m now a Mechanical Engineer. I’ve finally got my shop in order and I’m getting back on past projects. I’m currently building a CM400 for my fiancé but I plan to get back on the 650 soon. It might be the longest project ever but it isn’t dead. Here a snap of the mock-up on the CM400.

Congrats on the degree..
 I think that 400 is screaming for  about 3 inches of rear stretch..

 Porting looks good but you have to be really careful with that exhaust guide boss. There is much material between the boss and the valve spring pocket....you can break through easily.
 100 HP is a very, very big number for that size engine.....good luck.

But JWilde was able to do 80 mph in 2nd gear on his CB350! LOL!  Yeah, 100 hp is a lot to ask even for a fully upgraded 650 motor.
