May 28th. Estes Park Colorado.
« on: May 15, 2005, 09:26:11 PM »
Hello all.

I have a few of my GS buddies on board for an Estes Park ride on Sat May 28th.  I have proposed we meet at the RT 34 Loveland exit for breakfast at McD's at 9:00 AM.

This is pretty much an open invite to any type of bike.  I'll be on my GS and a I don't even know what other types of bikes will show up.  Lets get some responses going here if you are interested.

Thanks Chris Noel.

Will be nice to put some faces with some names.  Looks like a good number of members from Denver are going to meet at the 93 and 72 junction at 9:00 AM.  We wont hit up with them untill they make it to the Estes Area.  If any one thinks that would make life easier for them it might be the way to go.

I think I'm the only one thinking that Loveland would be a good way to go.  The other meeting place is looking like the one I'll be taking as well.  It is close to Broomfield and will be at the intersection meantioned above.  I don't know what is at that location so I'm eating at home before I leave.

This weekend is the 28th right.  It doesn't seem that we have any defenite commitments here but I'd be glad to meet whom ever shows up.  I finally got my GS plates sorted out and have been riding it all week.  Warms up in under a min. and purs from that moment on.  Cant wait to cruise with some other bikes on some interesting roads.  Hope no one goes to Loveland.  Again We'll all be at the 93/72 intersection.

Looks like I'm gonna be working on Saturday. :(   Too bad, because that sounded like fun!  I'm planning on riding up Trail Ridge road sometime in July and maybe staying at a friend's cabin near Estes Park for the night.  I'll let everyone know when the date is set and maybe we can get a group of these old bikes up to the top of the mountain!

Yall missed a VERY nice ride.

After 4 of us met at the junction we headed up through Golden Canyon.  Met up with a 5th rider at Nederland and stopped for Coffee.  We continued on up to Estes Park and stoped for lunch.  Cars actually pulled over to let us pass and enjoy the roads.  The best part of the ride was through Glenn Haven after we left Estes.  The twisties and hills of that road were just enough to make it FUN.  We headed toward Loveland on 34 and split up at 287.

Damn that was a good day!

I'll be watching for SOHC4 rides that I can participate in.  If any of you meet up to ride these roads I guarantee they won't dissapoint.  I'll keep you informed of the next time The GS group and I plan to meet.

Chris.
