Upholstery pan - need a little advice
« on: October 07, 2011, 08:01:23 AM »
I need a little help fitting the upholstery pan on my cafe seat.  I'm not sure where is the best place to bend up the front portion.  The second and third photos show my two options.  I would like the seat pad to cover the rear edge portion of the tank, like a stock seat does.  I haven't found an upholsterer yet so I'm asking the forum here.  Can the foam be extended up past the edge of the upholstery pan?

That's good news because that's the way it's bent now.  I'd have to unbend the front in order to get it to sit like in the third photo.

Yea, what King said.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

King - Yeah, I kinda figured as its pretty tight there now.

I used .090 5051 aluminum.  A local metal fabricator charged me $8 for a 1'x2' piece.
