Pretty loud.....the "baffle" doesn't do much.

Very easy to fit, I made my own little bracket and attached it to the rear foot peg triangle. Can't remove the oilfilter though, without taking it off.

Sounds like you have the stock filter housing, would a spin off filter be better.?  I have a set of drag pipes that are held on with springs at the head, might do that with the Yoshi.... ;)

What's a spin off filter? Do you mean pods or stacks? The photo in my avatar is pretty outdated, if you go back a few posts in this thread, you'll see a link where I posted some newer pics. I am runing stacks now, great at WOT, still needs some finetuning at low and midrange.

A spin off filter is like an oil filter on a car engine, someone makes an adapter that fits the front of the engine and then you just spin on the filter just like you would on a car, if i remember correctly a small BMW oil filter is used....

Sorry RetroRocket, had a few beers already and was thinking AIR, obviously you are talking OIL filter here  :)

Honestly, haven't thought about that much, will just keep everything as is for now. But maybe when everything else is done, who knows? Good thing to keep in mind.

Mind PMing me the pricing and lead time details for your pipe?  It looks sick on your bike and its the last major part I need to sort out for mine.  Thx

Dyrden, I got it from www.motogpworks.com in CA. There is a guy, I think Chris, that makes them Apperently he makes a few sets and when they are gone that's it, until at some later point he makes some more. I was lucky and got the last one of a batch, so l had it in a week. To find out, you should contact them directly. Pricing las year was $450, don't remember whether that included shipping, but worth every penny! The nice thing, it doesn't blue out, but turns into a darker yellowish color at the headers where it gets really hot.

NWrocker, looks nice! I seeyou are in the middle of the electric work. So glad I am done with that, was not my favorite part!

Looks great! I see you set the tank on the frame, I have mine sitting in between the frame rails, which is gonna cause me some problems when I ever get a new chain, since my rear wheel cannot move all the way forward. I guess I'll worry about that when the time comes....

These Oil Tanks look great!  Just curious though. Where are you putting your battery and electrical components?

Under the front of the seat. I am using a tiny Lithium battery and a combined regulator/rectifier and custom wiring with minimized electrics (no starter, turn signals, hi-beam, horn..)

Do you think there will be tire clearance issues, mounting the oil tank on the frame rails? How far forward does it need to be? I am making my own tank, also.

I would place the oil take as far forward from the fender area frame as possible.

Mine will be fine as I have slightly taller shocks and a 1" longer swing arm.  I don't think there's any way the tire could touch, but I haven't mounted anything up yet either...

nwrocker- that tank is cool.  there is only one change I would have made if I were going that far.  I would love to see SS braded oil lines ion it- if you can't hide it, chrome it! (BMFG)

I would like some info on that rear mounted oiltank between the frame rails near the tire. I have a 3" extended swingarm so it shouldn't be an issue. Does anyone sell that tank?
