How 'bout not calling it a relay, be a little looser on the "rules" and just go with the flow and have fun? It's all about getting our bikes on the road, right?
Last year, a lot of people were saying that the 2011 relay was the warm-up for the "real thing" in 2012. A lot of people said that they weren't going to be ready for 2011, but would be this year. There are a few people stepping up, but no where near what is needed to get this off the ground. And if someone doesn't grab the reins soon like Jerry did last year, ain't nuthin gonna happen.
I've been saying all along that 2011
was the real thing. At this point, I think it may be realistic to lower the bar and do something different. I'd love to be proved wrong, though, and see a relay happen again so that those that couldn't ride last year can participate.
