Keyster Carb Rebuild Kit for Honda CB750 1978
« on: July 24, 2007, 09:44:36 PM »
I just ordered 4 sets of the Keyster Carb Rebuild Kit for my 78 cb750 from Sirius Consolidated.
THEN, I thought of doing a search on the keyster kit here in this forum.
Please, tell me I didn't just make a $99.00 mistake ordering this kit ?!!
If so, how can I salvage my purchase ? Is there a particular part that I SHOULD NOT USE ?
Is it just the needle with a different taper that I can't user but all the other parts are ok ?
I think I remember Medic mentioning using this kit on his 78 750K...

Thank you for your help
Angelo

I used the same kit on mine, It worked good with the exception of the float bowl gaskets, I think it might be better to keep the original ones if they still have a good seal. Just make sure the main jets are the same size as your old ones.

No need to change float bowl gaskets unless they were leaking.
You will cause yourself MORE problems.

hes bored,,an old thread but the brass main jets can be wrong, ive checked a few and the stock kiehin #100 will just gently pass a 1 mm drill bit,,on the keyster #100 the same drill bit floats through much easier=rich, at least on my batch, use the factory jet needles unless they have an obvious worn flat on the taper,,use a magnifying glass,it might be too late,april24/2010 was obnoxs last post.
