I'm back. Assume everyone else is too. Chris (IndyFour) was the only forum member, but he found 3 new friends last week, so there were 5.

I logged 452 miles, so I'm beat. Won't be much by way of pictures. Too hard to get 5 pulled over and going again. We just rode and rode.   But it was a great day, everything went splendidly.  More after sleep.

Had a great time.....thanks so much Ron!  Total mileage for me was 348, so you must have wandered around for quite a while longer after we split off.

I think my favorite part was right after we left Madison (don't remember the name of the road).  Nice and hilly/curvy and made me feel like I wasn't in Indiana...then the random gathering of 100s of ATV riders racing in a field?

I have a few pics from when we stopped for lunch.  I'll post them when I get them off my phone.

BTW - I found out my bike speedometer is about 10% off and the odometer about 3%.  About what I suspected.  Overall mileage today was 45mpg.  Not too shabby.

Thanks again for a great ride.   :D

That was Chief White Eye Trail. IN62  So many of the roads in Southern Indiana are paved over Indian Trails from the 1600s. (Hence "Indiana" Land of the Indians)  Too bad the best part of it was closed due to the landslide.

And that ATV gathering! i never saw anything like it. And where did they think they were all going to go, they were all pointed to the parking lot. Man we should've got a picture of that and waited around for the start.

For the benfit of others:

here's my pictures taken in Greensburg:

Didn't take any while riding. But I've got a few taken on the route earlier in the year.
Near hairpin turn on 262

Looking down on the Ohio from IN56

Many miles along the bank of the Ohio on Scenic 156, it was glistening in the sun like I'd neer seen. (not in this pic though)

Beginning of Chief White Eye Trail, hidden only known to the locals and adventurous motorcyclists and, evidently, a few hundred ATV riders.

What we didn't get a pic of was the great roads and pavement, great shape and just the right blend of twisty and casual to amke a good long day.

Only thing better would be if we'd had the CBs we had last year, and a few more like Phaedrus. Maybe next year.

You can do like the rest of us, ride a non-CB, as the first goal is just to get together and ride. Hope to have my CB at the next one.

I'll post in the events section. I expect it will be mid-Sept again. The notice should go out 6 weeks+ prior with weekly reminders.  Hope you can make it.

After thirty years, I'm back on two wheels.  I purchased a one owner '74 CB550 survivor w/8579 miles.  A little carb and ignition work and finally on the road.  Have a number of minor issues to work on this winter, I just hope it is a short one.  When a ride is in the works, please put me on the contact list - will try to make as many as possible.  Looking for a Chilton or Clymer manual, if you know of one or have a spare I would be most interested in acquiring a copy.

Welcome! When we have a ride, it will be posted on this site in a couple of places. Right now, we seem to get together at a Rockers gathering on N. Illinois street in the summer, and then the Fall ride.

Raef would you give him a link to the manual? i don't even know how to get there.   :D

Thanks for the replies and link to the manual - much appreciated.  Look forward to meeting you all in the spring and riding.  The 550 turned 9000 miles this past weekend, can't get enough riding in!  If the state and county don't throw any salt down this week, the weekend might hold yet another ride!  BTW, if you Central Indiana guys are interested, Danville, IN has a monthly event called First Friday on the Square from May to October.  Hot rods show up and line the Square, car counts were over 200 this past summer.  I'd love to see a bunch of vintage bikes show up and be a part of the festivities sometime.  Anybody interested?  I was thinking Japanese, Brits, Euro bikes would be cool to invade one evening.  I think we would be welcome, I will check with the town planner who runs the show.  Big crowd shows up, a lot of people are into internal combustion as we all know.
