Topic: twin disc conversion

will my standard front master cylinder off my 750 F hold enough fluid, for my conversion to twin discs? if not what type should i be looking for, any preference, or anything off a twin disc bike, also who supplies braided hoses, for this conversion. cheers Tony.

Its not a matter of holding enough, they all hold about the same. Its a closed system and the fluid, once full, isn't going anywhere. The issue is the push of the piston. Some say they like the feel of a single disc MC on a twwin disc systmen. others don't. trial and error.

Lots of universal dual disc MCs on eBay and various sites. I bot one from a VF500 for mine. There is a forum member who makes lines, look in classifieds.

I did a dual disc conversion on one of my CB 550's I used a mid 70's gold wing master cyl. I also bought stainless braided lines from apex brakes I think www.apexbrakes.com they also had the proper banjo bolts and copper cursh washers. As for the caliper pistion and seal I found them on ebay. I like the stainless steel caliper piston. The discs I found local and cross drilled them myself using a protractor and some carefull measurement. Also the speedo drive I bought from a forum member (rangelov)

I have run twin discs with stock 14mm MCs, with 38mm K1 calipers, and 42.7mm K7 calipers. Works fine for me, but like MCRider said, the feel takes some getting used to. Once you get used to it, you will appreciate the light pressure on the lever required, compared to a 15.9mm (5/8") MC designed for a dual disc.
