Shhhh... Don't tell my Honda I got a Harley :)
« on: October 11, 2011, 07:56:04 PM »
Seems like the right place to put this...

Picked up a 81 fat bob (or super glide, same #$%*) from my godfather. Decent bike, has limited edition tanks (sadly no matching fenders) which are lowrider style so it retains the lr dash and gauges... Wide glide front end, new 80 spoke wheels 21 and 16, old packard(?) blinkers, s&s super e, new slash cut drag pipes, jay brake controls all new ss brake lines, revtech rear brake, I'm sure there is more. Some not so perfect chrome. And it Runs! Needs some carb tuning, and a air cleaner assembly... But so far so good :) and I'm getting it on low payments... Get to pull it out of his garage tomorrow (not an easy task) but here's a few pics for now!

Yup it's a FXEF... Aka superglide fat bob...  My godfather began dumping lots into it about 5 years ago, then came across a hot rod evo in a paughco softail. So the fxef sat on the back burner... Next to a fairly stock 84 fxr. Had my choice between the two.

Now you've done it!
Your Honda is going to start leaking oil.  :(
Start buying gaskets.  ;)

Is there anything more fun than riding? They are between your legs and are quiet when you turn them off.

On the FXWG, the wide glide legs had the fender mounts go around the outside like Ceriani forks. I milled a few off t make them look like yours.
Around 80 or 81 the FXWG came out, 4 over legs stoc, with the lowers I described, plus flame paint job from the factory.. was a big deal in them days..

Nice looking bike...I too have a 1985 Ironhead Sportster sitting next to my restored 1976 CB550F. Wonder what they talk about at night??

Your secret is safe with me.  I recently got a Harley too, the Tri Glide.  So far I've been able to keep it a secret from the Hondas but I suppose it's inevitable they will find out about each other.  I should feel guilty about cheating on them but I don't.  ;)

I try to keep mine separate........don't want them to breed some sort of weird blob.

Only occasionally I let them come out together for photo opportunities.
If it ain't raining, I'm riding.....~~{iii}?~~prost

If it sounds like I know what I'm talking about, it's because I cut and pasted from someone else.
