I was able to match the Honda key profile to the blank #62 at Home Depot yesterday. Unfortunately, the super smart machine they have there, will not allow the cutting because the blank does not match the original. I bought just the blank.
The profile was almost there, but it still needed some careful thinning with dremel tool to fit in the lock and the key profile itself took about 30 minutes of filing, fitting and more filing, but I finally have a second key. The key alloy is very soft and it is not hard to work with it.
It would be much easier, if they had the older key copy machine that does not check the blank, but all is well and I am happy with the result.
Side note: I made keys before for my CJ7 and for Grand Cherokee and some door locks too, and the Honda lock is - after door locks - the least forgiving, usually car locks have a lot of play and will give in to almost any rough key copy. Just an observation
