Here's contrast: I'm on one forum thread discussing whether the side plate on a rear sprocket is a worthwhile safety device, while somewhere there is a custom bike builder selling motorcycles without front brakes. Priorities, I guess.

I LOVE the no front brake look!

I am sure you would love it when you slam into that car because you were going too fast and couldnt brake in time and locked up the rear trying to do an emergency stop  ::)

But hey at least you will look cool doing it -

Hey twistedengineering ; Yeah that no front break does look coool, until you have to "STOP NOW" and then things can get a little Messy  :'(  ! Ask me how I Know ! Don't get me wrong, if you want to cruise around slow enough that you can stop by draggin' your feet on the ground, no front brake can get ugly. And from your avatar I don't think you are gonna want to do that. Don't get me wrong, I'm Not trying to be an A**, but I did the no front brake thing for a while, 'cause my bike didn't come with one when I got it. But after having to blow a couple of stoplights and nearly becoming 1 with a few cages and almost flat spotting my rear tire  :D , I custom fabbed a brake on my bike. I'm just saying we don't need to lose any riders because of the cool factor.
Hey King ; If you would, tell me about the kicker on that bike. The reason I ask is because I have 2 different styles. One that doesn't have the step out (offset) where it bolts onto the kicker shaft and one like the one on that bike. What's the reason for the offset on that one or what's it for? I hope you understand what I trying to say.   ...cougar...

Nice king, i really like the use of the (old looking) cast iron oil tank. That thing has a really nice vintage look to it.

King, if he does sell it for $3K, is he taking a loss, breaking even, or making a profit?

I can't believe anyone calling themselves a professional builder would allow a bike to go out of shop without  front brake?
There is style, fashion and stupid, that is stupid.
Either convince person they need a brake or refuse to build without it, thye can take it off later if they want
I sure as hell wouldn't ride it

I don't think the buyer ordered it that way, rather, that's what King put up for sale after applying his "artistry". I might be mistaken, but that's the feeling I have after reading some of his posts on another thread...

Hey all, I am curious as to why all the hate on KCC? He always has been helpful to members here and gives really insightful details when it comes to problem solving...

Read through this thread:

http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=96749.25

You mean this???
"As a seller, I love guys like this.  As a buyer, I hate them.  I wish I had a dollar for every owner I have to deal with that dumped more money into a bike than it was worth.  The term "fool" comes to mind. "

or

"I own nothing that I can't sell for more than I paid.  Nothing, nada.  I will say the food in my fridge costs me more than I can recover on resale.  Even that I consider a "foolish" purchase and grow many of my own vegetables.  Each to his own.  The opinion you have of entertainment, or enjoyment, having to cost you is silly.  Like I said, I love guys with money to throw away.  I am right here, throw it my way when you are ready.  I will add that I have made 100K in the last 7 years selling motorcycles.  Each one selling for more than I paid.  That buys a garage full of vintage bikes if I was so inclined to "enjoy" myself. "

I understand as I am closely following the sandcast thread.

I have no affiliation with KCC, nor have I been around this site for no longer then a few months. i do not know his history. I was curious as to why all the hating thats all.

Keep reading, that was only the beginning. Pay attention to King's comments about his "integrity". On another thread shortly after, he suggested someone should falsify a frame serial number by grinding the stamped vin off the steering head, and riveting on the tag from a different bike. So much for "integrity".

Yeah I am not going to call out others. Even if his integrity is shotty, which I am not saying it is. I think he does have lots of valuable insight/knowledge. I hope this thread doesnt go to a point where he won't be part of the forum anymore. Many benefit from his knowledge with these bikes.
