I would contact Motion Pro directly. They're good to deal with.

Most likely it will.  My Honda cable works with R6 RH controls no problem.

It should.  If you click through to the replacement throttle tube, they claim it's a direct replacement for the OEM Honda tube.  And let us (i.e., me  ;) ) know how it goes because I want to use one of those throttles myself.

I have a Motion Pro throttle on my 73 750 using the stock cables, no problem.  Also have it on my 550K cafe racer using Motion Pro cables.

Thanks for the quick response guys. So I emailed Motion Pro and they responded with:

"I am about 99% sure you will need custom cables built to work with the Motion Pro Throttle 01-0058. If you would like cables to work with the 01-0058 throttle to your machine I will need your stock components as listed in my email below. Another option is you can click the link provided http://www.motionpro.com/motorcycle/partno/01-0058 you can view and purchase the throttle and give it a try with you stock cables and if it does not work you return the throttle back to the website."

Thanks,

I wonder why Preston is 99% sure Honda cables won't work. I clicked the replacement throttle link and it says it's a replacement for many honda push pull throttles, equivalent to Honda OE part 53141-300-010 (which fits 750's). One would think since these bikes have been around for so long that this issue must have come up before.

The website leads me to think Honda cables will work, however I'll send Preston another email to confirm and update this post with his response.

@Steve_K, which throttle are you using?

BTW The OEM cables will be treated with AGS Lock Ease 4.

I used these part numbers (Motion Pro throttle Kit #01-316 or #01-0058).  I had #01-316 on my 86 GIXXER using Mikuni flat slides.  I had the same on my 76 cafe racer using Motion Pro cables.  I could not get 01-316 so I got 01-0058 and I put it on my 73 CB750 using the stock cables.  There is one that looks similar(different number) that works on Yamahas.   I think I paid $15 or less for mine.

Update:

Preston was still unsure and wanted me to ship my old throttle to their shop to test fit. Thought it was too much of a hassle so I ended up buying the motion pro throttle anyway. When it arrives trial and error time. Will update later.
