I was out to get a few more miles on this bike and sort of break it back in after the 24 year rest it had. Seems to be operating as Mr. Honda requests. Here are a few pics of the bike during todays fall ride. We had 55 but no sun.

How did your K3 do on it's shake down run Johnie? Any problems? I can't help but notice because both my KO and K6 have the wider 16" Harley rim put on by the PO's so to me it looks odd to see the stock size 18" on  the rear. I guess I've just got use to seeing heavier rubber on the rear.

That bike looks amazing! Can't wait to see (and hear) it with the 341's.

Hall...the bike ran great. I am taking my chances as these are still the OEM tires on there. They look good and there is no cracking, but I really do not want to take many more chances before I change them out. I wanted to see how it performed all stock, so I left the carbs OEM with the 110's and needle in #4 position. I had considered going to 120's and moving that needle to #3 like the KO & K1, but as of now I am leaving it as is. Performs that nicely. The PO or dealer had the air screws at 2 turns out. I put them back at spec 1 turn out. I will see what I get. Not sure why they had them 2 turns out. Hoodleyhoo...we have to try and get our schedules in order to get you over here.

10-4 hall...I hear ya. Push my luck is the correct statement. Would not be a good thing to find this low mileage bike and then have a blow out. Have to decide if I want to go with the Conti's like I have on the other bikes or maybe try some of those retro Dunlop I hear they are making again. What did you put on yours?

Congrats on the find Johnie, you must have a lot of luck along with having your ear to the ground all the time to have found that jewel.   What a great color.  You wouldn't happen to have a larger version of that third pic?

fastbrochi...I had to make the original pic smaller to place on the board. But I do have another still large. I can send it to your E mail if you want. Did you try clicking on the pic to make it larger? Not sure if that would help or not...

Dunlop 404 on both my 750's. I like them. Decent tire at a decent price. Work fine for the type of riding I do.

I will have to check the Dunlops out. Well, with a lot of rain coming the next few days I had to take the K3 out once more today for a 30 mile ride. At least the sun was out this time. Still performing well, but I can tell I will need to adjust the valves during my winter tune.

So I put on about 100 miles just to be sure she was a good runner. Some of you asked me to contact the PO to find out what he did to the tank to keep it so clean and rust free while sitting for 24 years. He said all he did was never use any ethanol base fuel. Says he put it away with some fuel in and by the time I got it most of it had evaporated out of the tank through a bad gas cap gasket. That was how I found it. He said the bike never saw rain and was stored in a cool dry place all the time and covered. Hence, the chrome in such great condition. Today I moved this K3 into the heated patio at my wife's urging.  ;) Here it will get a more through cleaning, polishing, new tires, HM341's, chain, etc. I am thinking of changing out the front and rear wheel bearings like I did on the others. But with just over 5,000 miles on it I am wondering if that is overkill. Easy enough job and cost is not much. Looking forward to getting this Mac system off. It is in great shape and the chrome shines like the rest of the bike, but this K3 would look so much better with the 341's. Looking forward to this project bike this year.

Hey Johnie, just got home and looking forward to a nice quite weekend. Its good to see you haven't run into any surprises on your K3 ;D Looks like the wife is very supportive and understanding of your sohc4 hobbie and letting you bring it inside were it's warm. She sounds a lot like my wife she knows I enjoy them and that's all that matters to her. I know you dying to get some 341's, have you order them from Honda already? My K6 that I bought in 2009 still has the Mac pipe that the PO put on it. I want some 341's bad too and hoping I can swing it in 2012.
Keep the pics coming and enjoy your weekend. Here in Greensboro, NC I think the weather is suppose to be decent this weekend and around 60 degrees. Will for sure have both 750's out and about and probably the Harley also 8)

Hall...I wish we had the 60's. My 750's are winterized, but I plan to get the Wing out this weekend. Supposed to be in the 50's. I ride the 750's so much the poor Wing usually only gets out when my wife rides with me. If it was not for her I would maybe sell the Wing, but she likes riding so much I could not to that. She likes the Wing comfort so I do not take her on the 750's. Regarding the 341's, I am joining the "Pipe of the Month Club". That way it does not look so bad on the statement.  ;)
Have a fun & safe riding weekend over there Hall.

Today I took of the Mac headers and muffler the PO put on. It is a shame to take them off as the chrome and pipes are really in excellent condition. Took out the exhaust gaskets as well. The HM341's will be ordered through Pipe of the Month Club. ;) Deer hunting opens this weekend so I will be taking time off the bike to spend in the woods.

Those Mac's are in good shape, but Im with you Johnie you can't beat the look and  the sound of the 341's. My son Justin is also a big deer hunter so he'll been spending most of his free time in the woods. He also does some taxidermy and is very good at it. Do they have some big bucks in Wisconsin?

That deer was taken by a friend of mine in my hunting party last year. We have 19 guys in our cabin that hunt 200 acres of tree farm in the central part of the state. Problem is they are predicting rain all opening day Saturday. Not worried about the rain as most of us hunt in covered towers. But seems the deer are not as active during the rain. But Sunday and Monday are supposed to be good days. Here are a couple pics taken through the window of my stand. The last one is me on the right and my son Ryan on the left. We are pumped for the weekend...
