Got my title in the mail yesterday so we are in good shape there. The PO met me 2 days ago and brought the center stand. Of course he did not have the stand shaft, moon or spring. I have an extra moon and spring. Will need to search out the shaft now. Painted the stand and will have that ready soon to install. PO still needs to look for the exhaust spigots, the 8 flat head spigot screws and the 4 exhaust clamps for me. He thinks they may be in a box in his basement.

Well now the K3 is officially yours, I know your happy ;D Best of luck getting all the extra stuff the PO says he thinks he has for the bike. Maybe he'll come through and still have it. When I bought my KO in May it was missing the air box Assembly, did not have factory bars and had a Harley rear wheel. The owner said he thought he had all orignal parts packed up somewhere. After months of asking him please try to find the stuff he finally came up with air box, but never could fine anything else. I thought all along the airbox was the smooth original KO box, but it was the later black type that's on my K6. I needed a box and I was happy to get it so I could get rid of the dreaded pods. But man I wanted that candy blue green KO box. But with some cleaning and fresh paint the K6 box doesn't look to bad ;) At least it will do until I get extremely lucky and fine a KO box. Does anybody have a extra one just laying around ::) ::) yeah I know I have a better chance of winning the Mega Million Lottery :'(

Started working on the rear wheel today. The chain plate is one of the few spots on the bike that shows any rust. I will recondition the plate. I am degreasing the rear sprocket to get a good look at it. Appears in very good condition with only 5,000 miles on it. I have to decide if it is foolish to put on a new one or use this one with the new x-ring chain. I know you are supposed to change all sprockets when you put on a new chain, but the dealer says not really necessary if the sprockets show little wear. I will post up a close up pic of that sprocket once I get it out of the degreaser. Then comes a new tire and reconditioning of the shocks.

Johnie, I have a single unheated garage(well I have a small space heater I use some) that I have four motorcycles in and a lot of other stuff. I have to do some shifting and moving bikes around at times. Your K3 is inside your house and looks like a very nice area to work. Is it a closed in patio or some type of sunroom. Just curious 8) Looks like The K3 is moving right along.

Hall...the bike is in a heated sun room. I have great lighting and the room is not really used much in the winter except for me in there with a bike or 2. Last year I had the K1 and the K4 in there. I can just fit them through the patio door. When I did my first bike (KO), I did not think I could get it through the door, so I pushed it through the house to get it there. My wife is much happier I can get through the patio door now. The only thing she asks is I get it done by spring..."yes dear, no problem."  :D And no more aluminum polishing in the sunroom. I sort of made a mess in there one year doing it. Should have known better... ;) Here is a different pic which will give you the look.

I like it. Very nice. When you moved into that house did you ever imagine that sunroom would be your 750 shop.

No, when I moved here I was not into the vintage scene yet. The kids were keeping us pretty busy. Moved here in 1987 and started the bike deal in 1999. It works out very nice in there. Plus, my wife is very supportive of the hobby. As long as I keep giving her rides. "No problem, dear."  8)

The way my house is set up there is no way I could get any of my bikes inside. Its a chore just moving new furniture in and out. I know all about Honda's in the house though ;D At my parents house growing up we had a big family room and I was able to bring all my bikes inside to clean them up etc. Thanks Mom and Dad.

Anything in reason. I couldn't bring any of the trail bikes in like my CT70 or SL175 with mud caked all over them of course. When I brought them inside it was pretty much just to finish up minor details that I hadn't got done outside.

What are your plans to do to the K3 while it's parked in the sunroom this winter?

The usual with the K3...keep it stock of course. Keep all the OEM parts on it that it was born with minus the tires, chain, etc. First doing the back end and will refurbish the shocks as far as cleaning and polish. Then detail the entire back end with the tire off. Then get the tire back on and start on the front end. I plan to rebuild and polish the front forks, rebuilt the front brake system. On the other bikes I also did wheel bearings, but with so little miles and so little oxidation I will check them and probably leave them alone. Steering bearings feel good so I plan to repack the top and bottom bearings. New front tire and tube while off too. Already painted both kick stands and will do some paint on the pegs and minor stuff. That chain guard is mint...don't ask me how, but not a mark on it. The 341's will be new and will go on once I get the bike in the garage in spring. Reason is it fits through the patio door better with no exhaust on it. As far as chrome, this is the cleanest I have seen. I do not think I will have to chrome much of it. Probably the gauge holders have a spot, but that is about it. Fenders are really good and do not warrant the cost to rechrome. No dings or dents. So that is the plan...

My son helped me get the shocks apart for cleaning. Do not have a spring compressor and so far have not needed one. As long as there are 2 of us we get 'er done. I wear leather gloves so I do not pinch myself. Now just have to wait for a son to come back home and help me compress the springs to get the clips back on. Cleaned the swingarm area and picked up my new Conti rear from the dealer. I have found it very beneficial to buy from my dealer. Besides the fact he gives me a discount, I always bring them some venison sausage, cheese and crackers for the holidays. To my surprise they mounted my tire for free. Told me Merry Christmas. I think they love my venison... ;D

I always like to see pics of others current projects. Thanks for keeping us informed on the K3 and its progress ;D Going to be a sweet ride. Your only problem is going to be finding time to ride the four CB's and the GW( not that that's really a problem I guess you could say that's a good problem) ;)  It's great you've got good repour with one of your local dealers there. The few dealers I've try to deal with in my area aren't very customer friendly and could care less if I do any business with them or not. Hopefully sometime in 2012 I'm going to buy some new pipes for either my KO or K6 and I'll try to do it with a local dealer if they will work with me little bit, but I have serious doubts >:(

I thought someone would mention that bent left leg on the center stand? Actually, that is the original from my KO. The PO had to bend the leg to fit some after market pipes. So this is just being used as a spare until I get my painted one back on this bike. Believe it or not, the temp here in WI today is currently 42. I am going to take a little time off the K3 here to get the Wing out for a ride. Not to often there is no snow or ice and this warm in December. Have a great day guys... 8) I'm outta here.

What would be neat is to get hoodleyhoo with his Dad's K2 and then hoodley's K6 along with mine and we could line them all up for a photo shoot. All we would be missing is the sandcast.

That's why I keep telling John he needs to get a K5 (planet blue please!). Then between the three of use we would have the whole set of original style bikes K0-K6.
