grounded ship off New Zealand
« on: October 18, 2011, 09:20:33 AM »
Hey Hush
Scoring any booty from this ship yet.  I have seen a few photos of containers washed up on beaches and some "salvaging'. ;)  Supposed to break up soon and who knows what will wash ashore.  Get your torch and Sawzall ready.

I've seen the bill of lading.  Lots of sandcast parts on there along with toilets that flush backwards (cause they're Australian)...    ::)  :D

One time Alaska coastal communities had Nike shoes washing ashore. Then there was the soybean boat that lost power and spilled in the Aleutians. Always seems to be something adrift in the Aleutian shipping lanes.

The Cougar Ace was another one, mazda scrapped a whole bunch of cars just because they were on a ship that listed over.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MV_Cougar_Ace

On December 15, 2006, Mazda announced that all vehicles on the Cougar Ace would be scrapped.[13][dead link] After an extensive process to deploy all the airbags in each vehicle, all of the Mazda cars were crushed onsite at the Port of Portland by Pacific Car Crushing. The last Mazda car from the shipment was crushed on May 6, 2008.[5]
