SOHC Trivia Challenge
« on: October 20, 2011, 06:45:42 PM »
We're coming to the end of the riding season in most parts of the world. I thought it might be interesting to kill the dark evening with a little SOHC trivia.

I'll post a trivia question and it's open for anyone to answer.  The person who answers correctly gets to ask the next question.  The triva can be anything related to SOHC bikes (technical or otherwise) or Honda history.  The answer should be verifiable.

First Question.

1.  What does the K stand for in the different cb designaitnons?

Kai? (sp?) Rhymes with eye.  According to a Japanese friend, the word meant "new and improve(d)".

Very Good CycleRanger!  I thought that was going to be a tougher one.  You win the privilage of asking another question for all to answer.  Remember it can be anything related to SOHC or Honda history.  This is how this thread keeps going the winner gets to ask the next question.

Yeah, let's hear it.  I'll recommend "What's the best oil to use in a CB750?"

Ok, I don't want to keep ya'll waiting for a really tough one so name at least five things that were changed from the earlier bikes when the K1 was introduced.  (paint color doesn't count.)

From ko to k1:
Side covers vented to no vents
300's to 341's
Carbs 4 cable to push pull
Mirrors -nut on back of ko mirror
Duckbill seat
Chain guard -short vs long

Dah...what was I thinking? 300's...must be my pain meds.

Ok, well technically 754 got it in first so I have to call him the winner although Johnie provided more detail
Hopefully 754 can come up with a harder question.

Unless Johnie beats him to it.  ;)

I think Don got 1 wrong..
Chain guard: short went to long in the K0. It went to steel in the K1.

Short to long is correct ko vs k1, or did some ko come with long later? Cool...
