How do you read this Chart? CB750
« on: July 20, 2016, 10:23:50 AM »
I posted this in my Project thread but hope that it might get my traction over here.

Please help explain what this is displaying.

Blue lines are? (I'm guessing this is the speed to rpms)

Black curves are?

Red curves are?

Ultimately I want to know baselines for RMPs to Speed in each gear so I know if my bike is performing close to intended
(I have a different pipe. Not rejetted carbs)...

Is this correct (according to the chart):
25mph in 1st - just shy of 5000rpms
50mph in 2nd - 6100rpms
50mph in 3rd - 5000rpms
75mph in 4th - 5800rps
100mph in 5th - 6750rpms

this chart was found on page 10 (actually 12 in the PDF)

thanks for any insight

Blue is definitely rpm/speed.
Black looks like how much forward force is applied at full throttle, this could be calculated to give rear wheel horsepower if you really wanted to.
Red... might be maximum slope the bike can climb, although I would hesitate (turn back, actually) if faced with a 60% slope.

Early Honda specs did include max slope the bike was supposed to be able to get up.
