I' I am converting the stearing head bearings on a CB750 1977 K7.
If I fit the bearing without any spacers the main steering shaft does not poke through far enough fo get the first threaded washer on, The top race sits proud of the head stock.
There appears to be a recesseed ring about 4 mm thick where the top reace would fit. If this was removed the top race would no poke out and there would be space.
do I need to remove this ring or collar
