Nice stories guys, good to see we arn't doomed as a race yet. :)
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

Had a couple of riding buddies in the early 70's in Montreal, we were Honda, Suzuki & Yahama.  I met the little sister of the Honda guy at a house party.  I haven't been the same since  ;)  Now I've got the Honda & the girl, for 38 years (married 36), life has been quite the ride.

Met my wife in Germany, at a bar In Stuttgart, 1976, married Oct 1979. Course, I dated her two friends before I dated her.

Her two best friends married my 2 best friends at the time. 2 of us have survived 30+ years of marrage. The other, well, we have lost trck.

Met my love in Jan 99. Married 5 years to the day later. Still 2gether with 3 dogs instead of kids. No biped children till her masters schooling is over. If we stay 2gether that long that is, my honda time is greater than the wifey time.......Boats  8)

My wife grew up a few towns away in VT. Eventually her family moved to our town and we started dating as seniors in 88. We went to the same college and eventually were married in 93. 18 years married. 2 kids 6 and 8.

I met mine in VA. 11 years ago. We were both doing summer theater. Well 5 days later after the fireworks(gig-ga-dee), I knew she was a keeper. She asked me tomarry her. I said sure and we flew to vegas the following day. Got married, gambled and flew back because we had to work. We have been happily married for 10yrs now. She's great.

The first was after a big night playing cards and drinking beer with the boys.
I woke up in the morning in a different bed and had no recollection of the previous evening or what I said or did.  8)  :o

We were together for 16 years and bought 3 darling daughters into the world.
After that crashed, I had decided that I wanted to stay single and  life would be relatively simple.

Well, the single man’s life lasted for about 18 months, and out of the blue, I was in love again with a girl from Berlin.
It just happened.
So, 9 years later and another daughter, life is good.  8)  8)  8)  8)
If I was you
I'd be worried about me.

2nd wife.  Meet on Lava Life.  She invites me to an Angel's Game.  She buys me beer.  Talk until 1am.........

3 months later (early 2004) she wants a motorcycle :).  We buy a Harley Sportster together (I had my project CB350F at that time).........

7 up/down but wonderfull married years later we have a 6yo daughter (plus the 5 boys, 4 mine/1 hers), 5 motorcycles (2 SOHC4s).

We have been long distance for the last 3 years since my job has taking me to Las Vegas and now Missouri, but we talk every day.  Hearing her voice keeps me going. We miss riding together. :(

Some of you already know this, but here goes. I STILL think it is pretty cool.

  Sept, 1970
I was sitting at a Shoney's Big Boy Drive In (in my '69 Plymouth road runner), drinking on a coke on a Sunday afternoon. Suddenly I heard another road runner honk the horn (back then, when a road runner owner spotted another one, they honked the horn. Beep! Beep!) I didn't see the car, at first, but honked anyway. Next thing I knew, SHE pulled in next to me and I thought she was gonna take off the side of my car! We sat there for a bit, talking and then she left. Just after she was gone, I realized that I was so taken by here that I had not gotten ANY information about her! No Name, No Phone Number, NOTHING! I was Sick! I just knew I had blown it, big time. We lived in Little Rock and even back then, it was a pretty big place (at least, to try to find someone). But, I spent the  next month, taking a portion of Little Rock each day (after work) and searched for that car. Finally, about a month later, I had stopped by MacDonald's, to ask a buddy if he'd seen her yet (he was looking as well) and then we spotted her. I took off and caught up with her and as soon as she saw me, she pulled over (fortunately, for me) and I found out EVERYTHING I needed to know AND I followed her home! Come to find out, I had been within about 5miles from her home. We got married in Jan '70 and stayed that way until she passed away on 1 Jul '09 (almost made it to 39yrs of being Married) She was the BEST thing to happen to me.

Out with the boys do a little drinking at the local wateringhole. Saw a young lady wanting to dance. (she was trying to get one of her girlfriends to go with her) I told my friend's I was gonna ask that chick to dance. She said yes, we danced the night away together. She gave me her telephone number on a napkin with her lipstick as ink. Fast forward to today. We just celebrated our 25th wedding anniversay today!! Best thing I ever did, asking her to Dance  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Thanks Brother, even to this very day, I wonder why she would decide on ME. I knew right away, that she was the one I wanted, but couldn't believe I had a chance with her. Yeah, I'm sure I've had MY time and now I'm a solo act (as far as that goes.

Met my future wife while coaching a slow pitch women's softball team of local girls that my younger sisters put together.  My sisters couldn't find a coach, and conned me into "helping".  My starting pitcher was the cutest girl I had ever seen.

Married her 4 years later.  After 32 years and 2 kids she still makes my heart flip when I see her.  Don't know why she has put up with me, most days.  She won't ride on the F1 with me anymore, but doesn't mind if I work on it and ride it to work.  Did have to "promise" her I wouldn't kill myself on it, though!
