One rotor is all you'll need.

One rotor man. Two rotors would look bulky and take away from your kick ass flowing lines.

I vote dual. I like the look personally. That's what I will be running with my spokes and my 08 600RR front end.

IMHO,you never have enough brake power,so go with twin rotors!

Thanks for your replies guys , seems its pretty even on the one / two disc question......
Ok , so this is what i will do about the brakes :
I have everything i need to go dual disc , but dont know if it will look the best .
I will make the hub ( all honuor regarding this goes to fun  jimmy , thanks a million ) symmetrical , with boltholes for discs on both sides , and keep the tabs for the callippers on both forks for now , so i can try with one or two discs when the rest of the bike is back togheter :)

Engine is not done , so now i get to join in on the work instead , witch is ok and wery interesting :)
I started by bead blasting the s..t out of everything , love this , it just makes it all look brand new ( and lets you see how rough the casting is :/ ) and dont even make you sweat , scrubbing and grinding .
Also did the hubs for the wheels and they also came out pretty nice i think .

Then it was time to start the machining of the cylinders to fit the larger sleeves , going from a 65,54 mm bore to a 69,54 mm , we did it in four bores , 2 mm , 1,8 mm , 0,15 mm and 0,05 mm , that leaves 0,05 for honing and ends up 0,05 under size for the sleeves ( does this sound about right for pressing in the sleeves ? )

Two cylinders was all we had time for today :)

Impressive work on the tank and seat section. Love the frame coming up between the seat and tail section.

Looks like I'm late to the party, but I'm not a fan of 2 rotors on these older bikes. I just think that single looks so much better, and 1 has plenty of power - more than the tire & frame can handle.

What really irritates me, though, is a single rotor setup with the caliper bosses still on the fork lower.  I do think that it makes sense to try it for a while before you commit, but I really suggest that if you decide you like the single look/function, then definitely commit and cut off the extra/ugly unused bosses.

The next question is: what side should the rotor be on?  Vintage bikes, cruisers, and dirtbikes tend to have it on the left... Shows off the wheel when the bike is parked on the sidestand.  Modern single-rotor sportbikes tend to have it on the right... Shows off the big sexy brake.

FWIW, I'm not a shill for Race Tech - I've just got a thing for good suspension and the RTCE's are the most cost-effective mod for these old damping rod front ends.

Oh yeah :) 65mm bore for the hasbeen 550 .
Jugs shortened and ready to be pressed in and honed , we did one thing a little different than paulagues 718cc , instead of boring out the cylinder to fit the collar of the jugs we machined the collar down to fit the cylinder , witch leaves about 5,5 mm of collar

Cleaned up the forklegs , removed some tabs and beadblasted it , then removed the remains of the ears sticking up by the rubber seals , this is as wintage as i can make a 06 fork look

Jolly good sir, jolly good.

Judging by that little detabbing...it seems you're going for a one rotor?

The detabbing ( btw is that even a word :) ) does not yet affect the calipper mountings , will keep those until i can make up my mind about the one or two rotors question

Loving the way that subframe and loop work together, and with the bodywork.

Really slow going still :/ , reason is that i struck a deal with the macine guy so im helping him build a dyno room at his shop ( yes we will build a custom rig to dyno bikes :) )  it was a bit of work but now its done , and i have a ton of work owed to me :)  so all engine macining ,front hub machining , custom gas cap  and so on will be for free :)  we are also talking custom stainless exhaust here ;)

For now i fitted the frontend today , pressed in new tapered bearings , and it fits snugly , a little adjustment to the stops and its perfect

Bad news is im not totally happy with my paint job so i sanded the cauling down to start over :/

Emo, nothing like free stuff eh? (well, in a way I guess)  I agree about the paint.  You did such an outstanding job on the bodywork, and the paint seemed so subtle.   Why not wait until the rest of the bike is done?

Slooooow , hate this >:( i want stuff finished now , right now !!!!!!!
Engine :
-Bottom half , oiler for primary , and mountingpoint for primary tensioner done
-Top half , holes for Cylinder sleeves drilled out to accept 750 sleeves , hole for starter motor welded ,and notches for camchainguide done.
-Cylinders , sleeves pressed in and honed for 65mm pistons , piston tops machined to fit with stroke height and head ,done
-head  , welded up top edge to fit with 550 rocker cover , done
-oilcooler adapter plate fitted ( 80 something 450 )

Engine to do :
Pocket pistons for valves
Porting
Bigger valves ?

Due to poor planning I'm kind of stuck , i forgot to order bearings for the crank , stupid, stupid, stupid , and now at  david silver they re out of stock , so i cant put the cases back together  >:(

Also waiting for :
Spokes
Camsproket
Camchain
Oilsump (650 to allow primary tensioner)
Cam
Ignition
Headlight
Chain and sprockets

So while i Wait I'm redoing the paintjob om the tank and cauling
