The cooler attachment from a CB550SC (83-85) will fit right under a stock oil filter housing with minor modification.  A longer oil filter bolt is available aftermarket (oem part number should be 15420-333-000.)  I have one for my 750 project, the big thing is making / routing oil lines. 

A much nicer alternative is a thread on adapter - converts to a threaded filter and has fittings to plumb lines for the cooler, Terry in Austrailia makes them : here's one thread that describes both routes:

My question is what compression the engine will have when done, if it's much higher than stock a cooler would be requirement - higher compression = more heat...

I also wanted to say I'm really impressed with your glass work - especially using the skeleton of the stock tank!  Keep up the great work!!!

Sweet!  Throw them on the bike and snap a pic, or gently set them on and snap one or two.  Paint looks great!

How did you test the tank for leaks, pressure, fuel resistance? Did you make a fuel crossover tube on the bottom so the fuel makes it over the frame channel?

-frankenstuff : i put pressure in it and submerged it in water - no bubbles :) also it will get a coating of caswell liner on the inside , will pick it up in the us ( heading over on saturday )

Back home from vacation , rough transition from +90 to - 4 degrees :/
But i managed to bring home a bunch of parts in my luggage , so now its on , building can really start .
Picking up the frame from powdercoat on monday , and the engineparts are hopefully machined by now , so i can paint the parts ans start assembly .
So this is what i got : ( frontend will not look as modern when i pick off some stuff , and i will probably go with only one brakedisc )

One or two discs ?
Im really in doubt , more vintage with one ? , more powerful / brutal look with two ?
Im not conserned about stopping power , i guess these 300 mm discs with a 4 piston callipper packs many times that of the original stuff even with just one , so , what do you think guys ?

Duct tape is always your friend  ;)  cardboardbox with one rolll of dt , shecked in as a separate piece  :) no trouble at all

With your bike looking as aggressive it alredy does with the great fiberglass work, dual is the way to go.............KEEP THE UPDATES COMING!!!!!!

One rotor should have plenty of stopping power, plus it's a bit lighter and that one side would be a bit less cluttered, all the better to show off those spokes you know.
