Tried on some stripes , dont know :/  its decals just wanted to see what it would look like before commiting to paint , thoughts please.

I like them as is.  But I also think that you have a one off tank that's sick as hell  8) so maybe come up w/ a pattern that shows off those lines more? ...just my .02 but I'll like it no matter what color/scheme it is.  Great work!

That's a very good point!
This awesome tank dose really stand well on it's own lines.
I was never in love with the double zigzag strip and would say less is more for this one. Perhaps just thin pin strips?

Tires on and tireshop totally f**ked up my powdercoat :(
Im super pissed , not only on one side where they have used tire irons , but on both sides , how f**kin hard could it be , i deliver totally rebuilt rims , that has obviously been put a lot of work into , why not just at least try to be careful ?
On the upside , they at least agreed to cover all costs of fixing it , even if i decided to take it all apart again and re powder .
But i just dont feel like doing all that work again :(
My plan now is to let the air out , press the tire away from the lip of the rim , mask up the tire from under the lip , sand down the powder with fine sandpaper , use a little bondo in the deep schratches .
Then mask the rim along the lip , paint with 2k paint , let it dry then sand the joint down with 2000 grit wet,  and polish .

You guys think that will work

Where did you get the paint? What company powder is it? I've been trying to get sunburst orange in paint form from NIC for about 2 months.
I would go to jail over that.... just saying.... Thats not even a rookie mistake, thats straight out not a #$%* was given to try to begin to be careful! You have paint to match the powder? It might look weird when it transitions.
Yep i got the paint , the transition is on the edge of the 90 degree bend .
Havent sanded the edge yet and its hard to see even now .

Started tackeling the electrics , my new battery compared to the old one :) , that and the starter alone saves 14 lbs !
Made a plate fot the idiot lights ,the headlight u bought had a highbeam light on it , but it was nowhere close to be centered on the light and looked like sh** .
The switch for high and lowbeam needed a place to go also .
The alu piece i made it of...... A stick on wc sign :)

My .02 - don't paint, at least not yet.  Keep the stripes for a bit and see if they grow on you.  If not, cut some different decals and try those out for a decent length of time.  If/when you really decide on a look that is "it", paint.  If you don't love it, you'll just keep kicking yourself  every time you look at it.

it should , i have shortened the axel for the rear brake and the tube on the frame it runs through by almost 2 inches, but i guess i will find out when i put the motor back ;)

Hey careful with those DCC mirrors man.  You should put some threadloc on the set screws when you get them dialed in.  I lost one of mine the first day! and the second one I was lucky to catch while it was hanging upside down and made a new set screw for it. ...even tightened as much as you can they tend to vibrate loose.

The bike looks incredible!  Love that seat!

Thanks for the tip on the mirrors , they are not DCC , its some chineese knock offs i guess ( if not DCC markets them as their own and buys cheapo on ebay :)

Finally some progress , its technically a motorbike again , not running yet but it has a motor :)
Now i can finish my electrical work and the gear linkage,  plus a lot of other stuff , its moving again

Putting the engine togheter was no problem , so far at least  , only cange i had to do that i didnt plan for was to grind of a little from the bottom of the cylinder liners , just a few mm on four points in each,  to clear the crankshaft
Otherwise i think its no different from putting togheter a stock one , once the machinework is done .
Today i hooked up the gear linkage , fitted the clutch wire and handle , front sproket and chain is on , and i made a adjustment to my seatpan to make the seat come closer to the frame in the front.
Also made some carb boots from an old radiator hose ( not shure if that is a good idea but it fits )  the outer diameter on the head is 38 mm and on the carbs its 34 mm so i found a hose with 33 mm internal diameter , cut it in four 35mm lenghts and forced it onto the head, then it wasnt to hard to get the carb side into the boots .
Its just on to fit the trottle cables and see that it all clears , and it looks like it does , so i guess i need to go get some clamps so it can be put on for real

Nice!  ...not sure how much that hose will affect you but I'd prob get some honda boots haha.  A. better fit and B. The boots match the inside diameter of the carb and intake throats for smoother airflow.

Quick update :
Electrical work almost done, just need to connect stuff in the headlight bucket now :)
Rectifier and ignition key fitted in the old starter compartment .
Head bolted on
Oilsump on and, oil pickup modified
Trottle cables modified and mounted on the carbs .

To do :
Exhaust
Finish electrical
Fuel hoses

START IT UP

Maybe this weekend

FWIW, I'm not a shill for Race Tech - I've just got a thing for good suspension and the RTCE's are the most cost-effective mod for these old damping rod front ends.

Nope :)
I just extended the shocks about 1,5"  so i have something like three inches of clearance now , test it out and then order new shocks accordingly
