Godzilla greets New Zealand
« on: October 22, 2011, 06:08:58 PM »
Well it's been kinda quiet on the World Tour front and I thought seeing as how I have temporary custody of GZ I better throw something up for all to read. GZ arrived in Napier which is kinda the wrng place for us to start our leg of the tour but I think Seaweb was still reeling from the shock of the $85 bill to send him to us. ;D. So it's a holiday weekend and I can't get GZ to the guys up North until Wednesday but having him here without a SOHC4 under his scaley asse didn't seem right so I took him sight seeing in Napier. Anyone who comes to Napier will want to see the famous statue of "Pania of the reef" a young Maori maiden legend says pined for her lover on our shores. Well GZ found sitting on my ticket box a bit much, he moaned about having his toes pinched under the spring loaded ticket holder so I bungee corded him in place but then he couldn't see ahead of himself so finally I strapped him with a zip tie up by the clocks. Now I don't know what you USA and Canuck fellahs got up to but I kinda think ya spoiled the lizard somewhat riding on all those 750's cos I'm doing 70 mph down the motorway and he takes a friggen nap all over me clocks! I am not going to be the first rider in the World to drop GZ across 4 lanes for some idiot to run over so I'm desperately holding him with one hand and doing everything else with my right! Luckily he stayed with me and we had a great ride around. I think he's sulking cos there's two Suzukis in the shed and he's a bit of a Honda snob you know! :D

I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

He's already ruined mate, all those thumping great 750's across America, he's snearing at our 650's! Anyone who finds 75 mph on the front of my bike so boring they can take a nap is just being contemptuous! ;)

We had to shackle GZ with tie-wraps just to keep him from falling off. He wasn't falling asleep; he was nursing a hang-over. ;)
Great start to the NZ leg! 8)

I saw a show of NZ on the history channel. That Kiwi had better grow some wings since Godzirra is there.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

It's not the 750's that's doing it Hush, he likes the wind in his face.  He told me this when I went to find a spot for him on my 500.  With a Cycle Sound stereo enclosure in my Vetter Windjammer, I couldn't make the mistake that some of the other guys made.  I had him strapped in between my windshield and my GPS with his head sticking out in the wind.  This way he gets to snack on the bugs.

Ya gotta let him breath and not hide behind a big shield!  Maybe also he was trying to be on his best behavior, seeing as your rig probably had him thinking you were escorting him to jail. ;D  Don't feel so emancipated...GZ was quite content when I took him on a brief buzz on my little CB350F here in Canada.

Don't worry about the bugs, he just got himself a Miner Bird, damn thing was in a squadron of about 30 that was crossing the road just as I hit 60mph and the last one hit my knee!
Just took the lizard for a wee 50 mile spin to keep him happy, the speedo on my 650 clicked over to 30,000 miles as we finished the ride and I thought how fitting for it to be with GZ on board but now I check my registration papers I see there is a jump from 60,226 miles down to 18797 miles at some stage, probably when the original Police (MOT) speedo was replaced so who knows how many miles she's done? :D

OK it's Wednesday morning 26th October and Godzilla has been dispatched to the far Northern end of the country to begin the New Zealand leg of his journey in earnest.
Have fun you guys up there, don't take any crap from the lizard, he like to get his own way and will if given the chance attempt a suicidal jump into oncoming traffic so zip tie has ass!

Interesting article Hushie!  I didn't realize the CB750 came out 9 years earlier in New Zealand  than it did in the States. :o I wonder if Madmtnmotors knows he started out in February instead of March. ;)

Ah a little poetic licence never goes amiss and all publicity is good publicity. ;D
Gotta admit I stuffed up on the dates though, but again it has lead to some inquiries from people wishing to correct me then becoming interested in coming along so the odd slip up can often help your cause. ;)
I set the facebook page up so I could keep in contact with the Kiwi riders but by all means jump into it    SOHC4 Honda Motorbike World Tour plus GODZILLA       :)

I also noticed a few inaccuracies but still cool having it in the paper for some exposure to the masses. The inaccuracies can always be changed if we wanna go gettin' anal about it!!!
