Don't freak out , but if i were you i would sell that bike and buy something a little worse than that bike to cut up, thats a really nice 500.

Welcome to the Forum!
I have to agree with Retro Rocket on this! Way to nice a bike to chop up into a Cafe. Its your bike, so its your call.
Make sure you visit the 500/550 registry and post there.

Thanks i'll definitely check out that section
she's actually not getting cut or chopped up in any way, im trying to cafe her in a way that if i want to restore her back to an original look all i have to do is swap some parts. (im not good with a grinder anyway

Hey I'm from L.A. the valley area.. I wouldn't cut that bike.. Find another basket case and do it to that one... i bought my CB500 1973 for around 500 and I was just offered 4000.00 for it and it not as nice as that one..

As for as what im doing to the bike, im not really cutting anything, just clubman bar, new rims/spokes, and lots of polishing, as well as a new exhaust and new YSS suspension

Welcome. I was born and raised in California and can remember when there were more open country roads in O.C. then there are now. Though I've been living in Las Vegas since late '08 and am now working in Missouri until December, I'm looking forward to getting back to the west coast. I miss my wife, kids and my bikes.
