Hello from So Cal
« on: October 18, 2011, 07:50:21 PM »
Found the site while looking from some help on points and timing... (I'll start with the light and get a strobe when I have a moment)

I have a 1971 cb500 k0 (12/71 cb500-105XXXX) with 8k on the clock. My first bike was a Honda scooter in the early 90's, Since then I've owned a CB750, CBR1100XX, Rebel 250, xs650, xvs1100, Hayabusa, and a Titan Gecko.

I just moved to So Cal so If anyone is interested in riding please send me and email. I'm off the 101@Kanan and plan on attending the Venice bike event next weekend. Hopefully I'll have the timing sorted and can do the ride.

Right now my project, I'm the third owner, has finally started after nearly a decade in storage (tank was gel coated by the second owner... as were the carbs and petcock **oops***). I've rebuilt the carbs, new batt, new petcock, lines, and now I'm faced with ignition timing and balancing the carbs.

Thanks for the great site!

Welcome! Let me know how the VVMC ride goes. I've been wanting to join them. I'm from Oxnard but I live in Riverside right now for work. Good luck on the project C. Ride safe!!

Amazing Event! Lots of Japanese bike, some Enfields and Triumphs, couple of Italians, and a few Harleys.

Loads of fun! I'll post pics in a few.

Welcome to the Forum.  Be sure to post in the 500/550 registry thread.  Pics would be nice! ;)

Nice, looking forward to seeing them. I'm definitely going to join that ride one of these days, real soon.
