So, the strategy is to lie to people you are asking for help?

I think I'll be busy going for a ride.

Wow, recalling 300,000+ bikes with only 1 reported accident. That's the right thing to do.

I have to wonder how many gas caps Honda gave out when they went to the locking cap recall...

This isn't that a big of a deal.  I worked for an HD dealership in 97-99.  We did a petcock recall on a bunch of bikes.  Most had it done while they were getting service or accessories.  HD had it down to a 5 minute job.  Very few came in just for the recall.  I imagine it was a nice little money maker for HD.  Get some new shiny bits and we'll take care of your recall while you're here.

270k bikes in the US for 4 year period is 67,500 bikes a year.  Thats alot of bikes sold regardless of the switch problem and its only the touring and trike models!!

why can't ducati handle problems like this? the have a fuel tank that turns to jello when you put fuel in it and they are fighting a recall tooth an nail even in the courts.

What do you call a Harley recall of 300,000 bikes?

...a good start!  ;D
