This is for AARONSXS.
XS400 looks like it will take XS650 liners and GSX1100R pistons, going from 69mm to 78mm bore.
You can do the math as to final cylinder size as I dont remember stroke.
The XS liners and pistons may find a good home in a CB350 (Ohiocaferacer

)

The XS650 liners/GSX-R pistons wont fit a CB350, I already tried and posted pictures here somewhere

not to hijack but crazypj you seem to know the yamaha 650. I just picked one up and need to find a good place for info. i went on 650rider.com seemed ok but do you know any other places?

Thanks bill. Have been on 650 motorcycles lot of nice looking bikes on there. picked the bike up on ebay for $300 for my son.
he want to make it look like this when we are done.

I havnt been into a CB450/500 for at least 20 yrs so I cant comment. It does sound feasable though as it starts out at 70mm. Got any pictures of cylinder/crankcase/piston with a rule for scale? (I have a couple of honda Hurricane pistons laying about, 82mm

GSXR750 1988 - '89 / GSXR750F KATANA 1989 - 97 (19 mm pin) 74mm

the 74mm would bring displacement up to 468...right under the limit for lightweight vintage superbike in AHRMA...hmmmmmmmmm

Dont have any 750 pistons to measure, they may go in with just a bore. what is the crown height? (centre of pin to flat top of piston)
Pin diameter is irrelevant, you can bush rod or fit different pins with caps to get what you want/need
I'll have a look around for 74/75mm pistons ( will 75mm be too big? IE, over 500cc)

Suzuki GS 500 twin, 74mm, very low dome could be altered to fit XS combustion chamber. 18mm pin, 26mm crown height. Doesnt look like it will go into standard liners, they would end up about thick 1.5mm at spigot.

If you have GSX-R 750 parts already it makes sense to use them. (like, anytime you do this stuf its sensible?

Heat up cylinders until liners fall out (use oven) you can measure block for fitting tolerance or use 0.003" interference fit (hole 0.003" smaller than liner OD.) Check the length is about the same (if its longer=good, you can shorten liners, more than 1/8" shorter=bad, piston sticks out the bottom and causes excess friction/rocking)

I'm a people person, particularly when I'm fixing their engines

Its all just bits of metal with dead dinosaur's making it go (unless your upmarket and use dead cow for seats)
I like to make big(ger), high precision holes in stuff

Bikes don't care what names are on them or their components.
Its all fun

o yea,i love this take something from this engine and put it in another engine stuff.i dont believe that we neccesarily need to use honda parts to overbore our engines.

I hear ya duster but, a person might oughta keep track of what other parts they use.
If you had to replace or rebuild an off brand part, it'd be nice to know what the part came off
of. I know a guy who had a CJ5 Jeep that the only things that were original was the body and
frame. Everything else was from varioius vehicle brands and he keep a log (or whatever. you
want to call it). Might be something to think about, if a person went very far with this. I might
just do this myself.

Suzuki GS500 is 74mm, and, two valve motor, so it should work as high compression conversion for CB450T. I have a couple of pistons lying about somewhere (or did I fit them to Kawasaki 400 twin?) I'll have a hunt about

crazy, how much you charge to do this to my motor? ive got an extra set of cylinders and will get a head. if you can do this for me id be more then willing to pay. you get all the parts, do the labor, and ill make it worth your while

hey, one more thing, could you check to see if rd350 or rd400 cylinders will fit...a 4/2 stroke hybrid would be wicked.
