Topic: CB750 tires - What are you running??

I was going to ask you about the K761.  I see fair share of gravel roads and these seem like a good option for our rural area.  Did you pair it with BT45 front?   I guess it is a no no, but looks like there 100/90-19 that would fit front wheel on CB750K.
Is rear tire in front really a bad juju?

No I paired it with a Dunlop K80 (shown in the photo in my previous post) - its more rugged than the BT-45. The BT-45s do fine on gravel though:

When I bought my 750 it came with a new Pirelli MT66 Route (100/90 x 19) on the front and a Cheng Shin thing on the back (120/90/x17). First thing I did was buy a Bridgestone BT45 for the rear. I did not have a chance to fit it until after I had done a 1500km road trip. I did not die or worry too much about the Cheng Shin but the Bridgestone is far better!
As for running a dual purpose tyre 
I had success with Avon Gripsters and Continetal TKC 80's on my BMWR80gs

I had a set of Chens I put on a KZ440. After a few seasons it developed cracks in between the treads. I mean I could see the cord. BT45s for me.

G'Day mate, well it turns out that all the 2004-2008 Rocket III's have the potential to destroy themselves because the output shaft bearings don't get much oil and are prone to collapse without warning unless the bike's have been fitted with an "Upgrade Kit" which Triumph will install for free, if you pay the labour. The labour cost (which the Triumph dealer forgot to tell me about before they fixed it) was $2204.50 and it was in the shop for a month before I got it back two weeks ago.

Strewth...makes a CB750 rebuild seem peanuts. I thought of you as I had a club ride with the local chapter of Triumph Riders - on Sunday..and the president took the lead on the group ride on a near new Rocket3. He took us down several miles of main highway and tuuned off into about 20km of twisties that I'd never ridden before and I could not believe just how well he tossed that huge bike around - I had no show on my 955 tiddler...and what a lovely growl they make!

G'Day Mark, yep, they are great fun and I've had a few outlaw bikers come over and talk to me about them because their club rules permit Brit bikes as well as their mandatory Hogleys, and they're looking for something with a tad more grunt. They do handle surprisingly well for their size and weight, not that most Rocket owners would normally stray too far from the freeway. What are you riding, apart from your beautiful CB750? Nice mate, I want an original 1200 Daytona, they were a big heavy mother and Triumph only made them for a couple of years, but I've always wanted one. Oh, and so as not to hijack this thread entirely, I'll probably run tires on it.

Bike is a K6. Will it work?

Not sure, my point was the 77-78 17" rim was factory installed with the 77-78 wider swing arm. If you use the max width 17" tire it may rub on your earlier swing arm. That is conjecture, I've never tried it. If you have those parts you can trial fit it and see how much room there is.
