Headlight Issues with Black/Yellow Wire??

I am finishing putting my bike back together and currently can't get the headlight working. The switch works as I have tested it and im getting power. There seems to be all wires connected EXCEPT a loose BR/R wires which seems to go to the headlight beam switch for power. What makes no sense is I do not have a BR/R wire coming out of my left controls but there is a Black/Yellow that when i test continuity wire the White and blue wires it passes. (Of courses depending on which way the switch is and if i am connected to blue or white. Hi/Lo) Mainly as I have a good knowledge of electronics, this seems to be correct on the way to hook it up. BR/R to BK/Y but the wiring diagram shows otherwise as it should be BR/R to Br/R and a BK/Y doesn't exist. What I am wondering is if maybe this control has been replaced with a different year and would hooking it up this way be correct?

Thanks
