Here's a year old pic of my CB750's what I believe to be a hooker exhaust setup.  Looks great and sounds great.  Note, the wrap around the muffler is not stock, the muffler had a hole in it so I patched it up and then wrapped the whole thing in aluminum and riveted it on in the back for strength and to keep it around awhile longer.  (also, those crappy emgo pods are long gone)

If anyone has those old Pipe tests (Hinomaru) I'd love to see them.
MCRider, Is this the pipe test article you are thinking of?

SNIP
Well that's got to be one of them. I didn't read BigBike so much as Cycle and Cycle World, back then. Thanks for that! No Kerker, so I'm sure there are others.

The bottom line there is not really too much improvement and at the expense of the stockers linear HP and often greater torque, and legal sound. On the tests with the drag strip results, I think the quicker times came from lighter weight.

I see the RC sheet doesn't mention the firing order swirl. Then I see on Leanier's Hooker, it has the firing order swirly, so maybe that was the pipe I was thinking about.

Hard to see in the picture but it looks like the Action4 4-2 has the headers paired. No significant improvement. Actually big drop in torque higher up.

The TV show Cafe Racer had a bike produced by Dime City Cycles.
They used a nice looking exhaust and megaphone set up.
Anyone know who makes it. They didn't say on the show.

I just looked at their web site and they make their own exhausts.
Check it out:

Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

Here's my 550 pipes.  Not sure what they are.  Look a lot like a set of Jardines I saw earlier in the thread but the 4 head pipes on these are all hard-welded into the can.  ???

My Motad 4/1 on my CB550F.

A bit fiddly to install as I found the tolerances quite tight.
I had to modify the silencer bracket so that my rear footpeg would go on. This involved drilling the hole in the bracket bigger to accept the shaft of the footpeg.
I don't have a main stand so can't comment on interference issues.
Nice chrome.

'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

these must have been common here ive had a couple of the same sets on 500/550s now, hows this first photo,,proper heat paint with the primer and good prep, about four months on,,and photo two,is half the price stove paint with a half effort prep nearly 12 months on?(i must paint that filter bolt)

i dont know what these are called, the muffler is an old transac and not an original part of the system, which looked like this and all one piece.

i had these headers dechromed and they went on another now sold bike,,the other set wasnt chromed.

Can anyone identify this set of pipes that came on the bike I just purchased?  I'm told they were originally chrome but have been painted since new.  These would have been purchased in the mid to late 70's I believe.  Thanks!

Anyone know what these babies are?

I bought them NOS off ebay last summer for $175 8)
I can't even describe the sound they make... eargasmic... ;)

They are a 4-2 crossover design with an integrated fiberglass baffle. They are nice and rumbley at idle, sound almost like a subaru under load and you can hear them from a mile away. And they still don't hurt my ears.

If I was a manufacturer I would make sure that pipes I made had the company name stamped into the exhausts.
