i bought a titled cb100 two years ago for $100. it was in pieces and has been sitting under my work bench until a few weeks ago. i started rebuilding it. so far i painted the frame, rebuilt the front end, and started working on a tail piece. it's going to be a little cafe style bike, which is hilarious because i'm 6'3". i'll keep everyone posted on my progress.

looks like a fun project. i like the frame color choice, goes with the tank.

bolted in the engine. these are the pipes i'm running. stoked, got them for $40 on ebay. came up on a solid rear wheel and tire. a bunch of spokes were broken in the one i had.

I've owned a few CB100's & CB125's & have actually driven a CB100 from North Platte,NE. (mostly on Rte.6) all the way back to Cape Cod,Ma. back in the late 80's.I went from a touring bicycle w/ bags up to the CB100 & it was a great switch at the time. I know once you get her on the road for everyday use(if that's your plan)it will sure help if the price of fuel gets high.I always enjoyed to drive mine on the smaller "black line" roads on the map in the country,but had to down shift a lot to keep the power up; you could pull the wheels on it & take it in a small aircraft & have transportation when you land !

riding a cb100 that far is just crazy! i'm sure it was an adventure. i'm hoping to ride it from indy to bloomington and back (100 mile round trip) when i get it finished.

The old Honda's are TOUGH man; and at the time when I made that long journey I needed that bike to get me there...and it DID !
I had a 10 day temporary paper plate from NE. on it and I made the deadline w/ a day to spare.

I love my cl125. Ride it all the time.

I have some parts that I'm looking to get rid of.
I've built a few of these but now I want the bigger bikes in my garage to run!
The 125 looks really funny near my CBX

Ill tag along on this one and see where it goes. I have a handful of 125s. Im starting to migrate to bikes a little bigger because in CA it has to be over 150cc to be legal on a freeway. The 125 cafe i just sold had that same tank.

I just rolled it onto the side of the house. I started buying parts for it but its about third in line to be worked on. I am trying to get another 125 up and running as well as a CT 200 running as well. The CT 200 is to help fund the other two.

Thanks guys. Ill try not to disappoint on these next couple of builds.

How is the cab on this CB100. All my carb floats have been crap and i have had to buy new ones. A guy i know that rebuilds trail 90s always replaced the stock carb with one of the cheap replacement ones off ebay and had good luck with them. I was thinking of trying it out on a 125. You can buy the whole new carb for a little more then the float cost from honda.

it's good but slow the last few weeks. i made an exhaust hanger which i'm stoked on. last night i did round 1 on removing rust from the gas tank. it was pretty bad, but i got most of it. just need to hit it one more time. been going though parts, seeing what i have and need. testing electronics for when i wire it. mocking up seat designs etc. i'm to the point where i need to spend some $ on parts. battery, carb kit, points, condensers, throttle, clutch lever, cables, headlight, tail light. i need to make a trip to 2-wheels cycle here in town to dig for some parts. that's funny you mentioned the carb float. mine had a pin-hole sized leak. i found out that floats from cb350 twins are the same, so my buddy gave me one.

after not doing much, i've had a flurry of activity on the build over the last few days. i took it over to my friends house so he could help wire it. we decided i should make the seat pan and bump first so we know where to stash the battery and electronics. i decided to try making it out of fiberglass. i'm currently letting the 2nd layer dry. it doesn't look half bad for the first attempt. i went to 2 Wheels here and town and dug for some parts. i got a Yamaha dirt bike head light (metal, so it wont crack), foot pegs, and a tail light. i also ordered a ton of parts online clutch/brake levers, carb kit, rectifier, condenser, points. finally getting somewhere!

got the bike back from my buddy who did the wiring. he basically put in an all new and simplified harness. bought a tiny rec/reg combo and a small 6v battery. we wanted to put it in the seat bump, but were afraid it would bottom out. i need to find stiffer shocks. i rebuilt the carb. should be ready to fire up soon.

Yup thats a CL tank. For shocks i went here http://www.hondaminitrail.com/z50.html
I used shock P223. I lifted the back end a little and gave it a nice stance.

haha. those are the grips that came with the throttle. not sure if i can get the metal flake ones over the throttle housing. defiantly going to run something different than the black ones...

been working on the headlight. i bought a bucket that is off a yamaha chappy. i didn't realize that finding a new bulb was going to be a pain and expensive. i had a burned out cb100 bulb so i made it fit in the new bucket. i cut out the back and made it so i can use a 6volt turn signal bulb. the ears are off a dt200? i cut some up some rubber that i found in the plumbing isle to make them fit. the headlight sticks out just a little to far, but it might grow on me. otherwise, i'm stoked on how it turned out.
