Carpy's Scorcher, or buy a baffle for my Kerker?

Time to sound off.  I'm trying to fix some back-pressure popping on my '76 CB750F, and quiet it down a little.  It came w/ a wide open Kerker (no baffle or cone). It runs great, minus the popping.  So the question is, do I buy Carpy's Scorcher pipe for $65, or a baffle (made by Mac) for the Kerker for $50?  Are there any reasons to choose one over the other, other than the price and style differences?  Cheers!

After going from open headers to the scorcher, I think it's way too quiet.

Buy the Kerker.  Carpy's quality is a bit lacking sometimes.  I haven't measured yet but I ordered the 4-1 and the scorcher from him and there is a 1/8" gap all the way around the exhaust pipe.  Either the exhaust is a little small or the ID of the scorcher is a little big. Not sure but either way something doesn't appear right.

artf0rm: i'd noticed that from the pics on his site.  seems like a poor fit.  i thought about maybe wrapping a layer or 2 of fiberglass around to seal it. 

a couple other members have pm'd me about it.  everyone says get the baffle and live happy.  :)

Good advice.  I only bought it for "inspection"  just encase.  If I was looking to run something permanently I would have returned it and looked elsewhere.  There is a guy here in town who builds tons of custom bikes who will no longer even order stuff from him. Swears all his stuff is crap.  I wouldn't go that far but it is hit or miss.

By the look of the attachment method, the scorcher is really only an exhaust tip, not a "real" muffler.

@heffay: i agree.  it looks like it could benefit by cutting some slits around the base to make it more flexible, and then using a clamp to attach to the header. or just a tighter fit in the first place. ;)
