What would you want from Ontario based get togethers

A couple of nice rides, an occational informal meeting place and a sense of comraderie.
A little more organized, a few rides, a rally, an informal meeting place and a sense of comraderie.
Well organized, several regional rides, a couple of group rides , a national ride, informal  meeting places and to feel part of a dedicated group.
Im up for an occational ride and will try to make it to a rally.
I am too busy to commit but will join in whenever possible.

About Ballinafad being less bike friendly, irritation over excessive noise in the otherwise quiet hamlet may have had something to do with this:

I know the poster 'Rixster' on the GTA site, and have been following this bylaw development for almost year now.  I've been told the OPP now have a semi-permanent location on the Forks were they have setup for sound testing. ;) :)  I'm sure they will be there on Sunday.  Not worried, I'll have the 400SS. ;D ;D ;D

Swoop & I are meeting at Timmy's on Queen (just north of King) in Bolton @ noon.  We plan on heading over on King, through Caledon to Cataracts, then down to Bellfountian.   Anyone else want to join us??

Hey TT
I might be up for Belfountain....let me know if you're going.

Steve

As it looks like the weather will be the same all day, I'm going to go to Bellfountian Swoop.  Not sure if P_Camps wants to join in.  If your planning on coming across King St, we can meet up in Bolton (Timmy's just N on Queen?), head over and take Cataracts down from Caledon; then do the Forks as the return trip.

Would agree cookingdaddy, that the place has become somewhat less bike friendly.  That said, I was over there about a month ago, and the Coffee shop lot was full.  More interested in having a nice ride over & back.  Sam's is basically an arrow straight run, with 1/2 of it 80K 4 lane. :(  Besides this is about showing off our SOHC's, and maybe getting lucky, and having it chossen for the program.  Going to join in??

Sorry Boys... I cant make the 25th and/or the rain date!   craaaapppp....   I'm too busy for my own life..lol

Yes, Sam's is every Sunday.  Only, late in the season not many show up...like into November onwards.

I'm thinking about heading up there this Sunday, any particular time in the AM to go?  I know where it is but haven't attended the Sunday bike thing before.

I was at Haugen's again last Thursday, saw 2 other SOHC4s & a gorgeous '80 CBX, fun but a bit of a harleyfest, is Sam's better?

I have never been to Sam's and Sunday looks like a good day for a ride and to see some sohc4's. What time?

I've only been once, but no Harley's really, lots of old stuff, Triumph, Norton's. I believe it's a breakfast thing. When I was there, there was the tv shoot, 9am-11. Some of the other guys on here will know.

People start to show up from 8:30 onwards.  It's a CVMG / GPR weekly event.  Usually an interesting assortment of bikes.

Sounds good, I'll be there.  Hey Brian, did you make it down to that Illinois ride (or somewhere down thereabouts) last weekend on the new (to you) bike?

This weekend has a few other events taking place with the GPR section of CVMG, one of which starts from Famous Sam's.  Here's a note of activities that I received:

This is a reminder of 2 activities for the coming weekend.  On Sunday, September 18th, GPR’s own Andrew Harris will lead our annual Green Lane Run:  depart Famous Sam's at 9:30 and follow the less travelled backroads of Southern Ontario. The route is about 60% pavement, with the remainder a combination of hard packed dirt, gravel and (yes) grass (5%). Unpaved bits are level and wide. This route is suitable for almost any bike, old or new, and most riders. Finish up at the Tyrone mill, about 3 hours riding time.

You can also take in the British Car Day on Sunday.  This takes place at Bronte Creek Provincial Park in Oakville.  We have been given the usual display space at this venue.  Gates open at 8AM for exhibiters, general admission starts at 10AM.

Hey Booze2, the ride is in Indiana this weekend (Sat 17th).  However a family issue has come up which will prevent me from leaving on Friday. :(   So I will very likely head over to Sam's with the VF on Sunday.  Of course if I can quiet the 550 enough to get through King City / Oak Ridges, might bring it. ;)

Hey Bob, is the ride only for GPR members?
Not sure, but since the ride is a CVMG event, it likely is intended for CVMG members (or prospective members).  The CVMG has various "sections" all across Canada.  The GPR (Great Pine Ridge) section covers the north part of the GTA, and they are the ones meeting every Sunday morning at Sam's.  Since this regular Sunday thing is an informal ride-in meet, many non-members show up with older bikes as well - and they're all welcome.  I guess the the hope is that newcomers can check out the scene and perhaps decide to officially join.  They organize a few rides like the one I mentioned (the Green Lane Run) and there is no entry fees for participating.

+1 on the interesting bikes that show up.  Last weekend there was a mint 305, a K0 & K2, a 79 CBX, a Rickman, and some interesting Norton's.
