The thing I don't understand is the actions of the assistant that first discovered this. I realize people are full of talk but I would have beat the crap out of Sandusky.

But yes, Paterno had to go.

You hit it on the head Dukie.. I saw the report timelines and its appalling. FIRST reports and witnessing of this sick act was in 1994.. WHO knows how long it went on for..

Then to learn the DA who was pushing charges against him ended up missing, files of the case are gone and now the DA has been ruled dead will show the true light to the darkness this man is part of.

Yeah, not so happy in Happy Valley right now.  I agree that pretty much everyone needed to go but I'm not sure anyone knows for sure what part Joe Pa played.  I just can't figure out the "witness" part of this.  Where was the "action" by the people who saw this happening?

Shame on the school and everyone who didn't get authorities outside the school (coverup) involved from the start.
Bottom line...no one cared about the kids, only their paycheck and job at the end of the day.

I was a little surprised Joe Paterno got fired.

Don't get me wrong, he should have done more--they all should have done more.

How hard is it to imform the authorities and help as needed?

For what it's worth, here's the versions of the news story I've been reading in case  I may be getting a "sugar coated" version

I read this and I'm not sure why Paterno is getting hammered either. According to the article he did what he was supposed to. I think Tim Curley is the one they should be going after besides the obvious of hanging Sandusky up by his balls.

According to the article he did what he was supposed to.
it was a well orchestrated cover-up by the School and AD.
for the rest of his sorry short life he'll get to think about what he SHOULD have done.

This story was broken in April by a former ESPN reporter but never brought to life. He had an article published but nothing was brought to light.  Today, on a national radio show, the same reporter has more shattering news. This makes me sick and being a father of 4 makes me even more angry..    He states its a huge cover up between PSU,  sanducksy and his foundation to be part of a large sex ring that pimped out young boys to rich men...  Please listen......http://themajors.net/?p=2979

Mark Madden broke the story ?

Back in April ?

Really ?

Actually, other than the few times he was on the 'DVE morning show, I can't stand the guy.

I guess it's true that you shouldn't trust mainstream media.

Edit: googled mark madden and ended up here

http://www.1059thex.com/pages/markmadden.html

will go home and listen to "mainstream news" to hear their version of the story. I guess up to now I was only hearing the "sugar coated" verson.

There is no way Paterno could not have gotten wind of this. If he did not he was not paying attention to his organization and that is negligent. The victimization of children is as low as it goes and there is no rationalization and  no mercy can be shown.

I'm not sure the students we saw last night are representative of the Penn State student body as a whole. It looked to me as though the ones reacting were the same ones more interested in when and where the next kegger is.

Mark Madden?  No wonder nobody took it seriously.  Wasn't he on WCW Nitro back in the day?  And hasn't he been fired from numerous stations?  Personally, I think the guy is a hoot but Mark Madden is Mark Madden...

+1.  Just an excuse to riot.  Many of those "knuckleheads" as the Governor puts it have no interest in anything but having a perceived reasoning for creating mayhem...

Grand jury testimony is only the beginning. Now JOE PA has hired an attorney?!?!? I am becoming a believer in the Madden story. When I heard his broadcast I got goose bumps. Being in the social service field and being a counselor at one time for at-risk youth, my stomach turned when hearing that....

The school is behind all the cover including Paterno and Sandusckys foundation. PSU deserves the death penalty in a more severe fashion then SMu reserved in the college football hay day
