RS34's not firing
« on: November 11, 2011, 04:38:09 pm »
So I finally started up my 915 build and everything is great with the exception of the carbs.  with the Mukuni RS34's I can't get the bikes #2 cylinder to fire.  I have rulled out the Dyna 2000 and all four carb bowls are getting fuel.

I think this issue may be similar to what David was experiencing.  I have sent him an email.

Walking away for the night, hope to have some new ideas in the morning.

Edit:  #2 pipe seems to heat up when the choke is pulled.  Any ideas???

Any idea's from the experts?

That's what was happening on my bike.  Runs fine on CR31's, but a random cylinder runs cold or not at all with the RS's.

I've tried running it on a full bottle with a large fuel line to verify it's not a fuel pressure issue, but the problem persists.

The one thing I haven't tried yet is to measure the amount of fuel that drains from the bowl on the cold cylinder and compare it to the amount of fuel on a running cylinder.  Might be worth a look.  IF the fuel level in low on that carb, it at least gives you a place to start looking.
Take care,
David
