gonna be cool. I would say the spoke wheels should hold up to the power, fastest indian has spokes on it, id call buchana's see what type of wheel they might recommend,  his sh!t is super nice also http://www.rolandsands.com/parts  for the exshuast can you use the flanges off the 600 exshaust an use the exhaust that you took off the 550, for the swingarm have you thought about the seca2  it looks to measure 22 5/8ths from center of swingarm bold to back,

I used to have an English bike mag that had a Honda 750 frame with an early GSXR 750 engine in it, it looked real goods too. I've tried to find it online but i had the book in the 1990's so i haven't been able to find it online. The Suzuki engine was better because its carb set up wasn't downdraft, so the original tank was able to be used....

Progressive is the company name Syscrush, i have used them a few times and had nothing but improvement, i have some in my 43mm Suzuki forks as well, they came of a very quick race bike and are definitely good enough for me....
I don't doubt that it's better than the stock setup, especially with the emulators.  I'm curious, what bike are your 43mm Suzuki forks from/on?  Are they damping rod or cartridge?

I am trying my best to stay with all honda parts.
I am prolly gonna stay with stocker swingarm.
The cbr exhaust with follow the engine lines better since I am now removing the bottom portion of the frame. I did however think about using the old exhaust and just mounting the cbr flanges to it.

I really want to go with pods but cant find a pic or a how to anywhere so for now im gonna stick with figuring on keeping the airbox but prolly mounting it backwards so it angles down.

I will be going with some of those fork springs. I already bought the seals and fluids. I am still trying to source a cheap brake caliper and rotor and some kind of brake line splitter.

Im off all next week so be ready for pics...

GSXR1100K {1989} forks, rebound and damping control, damping adjustment at the bottom of the forks and rebound at the fork tops. Damper rod style forks. I am running one set with 17 inch wheels, they have been extended with 2 inch screw in inserts, the damper rod has been lengthened as well, and the other set are stock length and are going on my K2 with 18 inch excel rims. The set with the progressive springs were on one of my early gsxr's and the guy i bought them off had them on a TZ750 Yamaha.

Cut the frame being sure to not cut too much.
The motor sits down really nicely. The original mounting holes are pretty darn close to the new motor holes(how fortunate...)The exhaust acts like a protective frame for the motor.
I went as low as I could without having swingarm -- chain clearance issues.

I will start fabricating the motor mounts .

I have no idea what to do about the backbone/gas tank?????
I keep hiding from this problem but it looks like I will have to arch the backbone and gut the tank to make it non functioning. It could hide the wiring.

I will try putting pods on there and see if I can at least get it running before I jump into that. Dunno if that is even worth the trouble??

Interesting. I thought those would be 41mm cartridge forks.

The front end mod is documented here somewhere. Easiest way to do it is use your stem pressed into the donor trees. Beware, front end geometry will be different. Rake* trail.
Rake should stay the same, but trail generally would not.

Cartridge forks, where is the damping control on them.?  The Earlier 1100's {G,H,J} had 41mm forks, the K model is the first slingshot model with the newer body work, last model {in Australia} with right side up forks and they are definitely 43mm... ;)  Its been a while since i had them apart but i distinctly remember having the damping rod extended...

I'm not trying to bash anything you are doing so i would like to get that cleared up first.... ;D I have a modified GSXR swingarm on my bike.  My concern is that all that extra power is going to want a nice stable chassis. I would put progressive springs in the forks and emulators, i would brace the frame, definitely with that much power, and i would do something about bracing the rear section of the frame between where the battery sits {between the upright frame tubes, just above the swingarm} and fit some reasonable rear shocks. That is of course if you want it to handle well, if you just want straight line speed then 4 inches longer in the rear will help straight line stability but it slows down how the bike enters a turn, more effort is required to make the bike turn in. If your bike isn't handling well then it probably has crap oil in the forks, average or stuffed rear shocks and probably needs swing arm bushes. The small Honda's {500, 550} handle quite well and there are piles of guys here that racer them..   If you want to use that swinger on your bike and you want to use twin shocks,  just do what i did and remove the monoshock and shorten the arm. One of our forum members has a 500 race bike with a cut down GSXR750 swingarm, it bolts straight in and is definitely stiffer, he is running stock length with the swingarm...

what tank is that from?

According to RaceTech, that's a KYB 43mm RSU cartridge fork, not damping rod.  I'm no expert on those bikes, but I would be surprised if they were using damping rods on the top-of-the-line sportbike in the 89 and 90 model years.

Alright, . started the frame mounts today.
I am using the aluminum bosses from the 600 as a temporary spacer and im just gonna tack it all in place until I am sure everything lines up right,.

The front mounts are more than likely gonna have a new drop tube(that will also serve as a crash bar) made for it by me.

right side mostly finished. needs larger holes drilled.

the actual frame bolt from the 600 is perfect for this application as it goes all the way through and will serve as an alignment tool of sorts. just gotta be sure on those bosses so I get proper chain alignment.

then the idea for the crash bar front bracket assembly

Ok I have just re-opened the can of worms. I placed the carbs on and decided to mod the air intake to get a rough idea of how small I could make this. It looks like it will work fine and save the most space. However, I know for sure the backbone is gonna have to be re-fabbed. the tank is gonna sit a little bit higher but I wanted that so I could lay on it at speed.

SOOOO, that leaves me with this--

I can cut a portion of the tank and weld in a new portion to sit over the new airbox, and split it to add 2 inches of width
or just hollow it out (which would be easier) and then learn how to weld plastic and make me an abs fuel cell to fit in the triangle. all of the electronics could then go under the faux tank.

I roughly calculated a 2 gallon capacity leaving room for tire/chain/swingarm travel and I may be able to add more if I reach out onto the top of the engine. Wiring and space provided of course.

Ooor? give me a suggestion for a fuel tank that will resemble a cafe racer and do what I need.

this is a one gallon gas can. I just barely couldnt fit the two gallon one in there because of its shape.
